The GWK Griquas, Currie Cup side from Kimberley, have signed 2 former Bulls recently and this week a former Shark was spotted in the peacock-blue. Luzuko Vulindlu, who has been playing in France, is on trial and trying to earn his place in the squad for this years Currie Cup season.

The 2 former Bulls who signed, are JP Nel and Stefan Watermeyer. Watermeyer is returning from Europe where he spent a season with Ospreys in Wales. JP Nel is returning from Japan.

Not bad signings for the "pou-bloues"... They have always had a knack to get some quality players and be competitive at Currie Cup level.

I was once at a Victor Matfield benefit (we were in the same High School) and he said the Griquas have a great relationship with the other unions and they have a gentlemen's agreement to get some young players who might be 4th or 5th string players at their current club and help them grow in better players, just like Victor did.

Brummer was being looked at by Darren Edwards as our new outside half. I'd rather him over Fail Godman or Adrian Jarvis, who we also considered.

Recent examples of that are Justin Downey, Dusty Noble, Naas Olivier and Jean Stemmet. They are a very popular franchise and like you said, there's no real hate towards them. I've had a soft spot for them ever since I started following SA Rugby... It's just something I can't explain.

What's not to like about them? They are a very traditional team. Always had the same kit design and their players are humble and just wants to play rugga! And other teams hate visiting them as their pitch is rockhard and they don't shy away from physical part...

Those look more like cast aways that no one really wanted than quality
