Head Tracking

I've seen this before, but in a much more "industrial" format. The fact that this is done with a cannibalized Wiimote blows my mind.

I need a Wii.

that will be awesome - Surely it should be in development by now as I seen it on there quite a while ago too

head tracking has been available on the PC for many years (I've had one for over six years). The latest version is very good.

supported by around 100 games of varying ages.

and some people with make them out of converted webcams.

However this does not deliver the same 3d effect that the Lee video tries to show, it is a much more practical application. there is a discussion here on the practical use of the parallax effects here:

Wow this is truly amazing...imagine if they made an arcade game where you sat in a car, tank or plane cockpit with three screens surrounding you (maybe four if you wanted a back window) and all screens were head tracking you at the same time! Where ever you looked or moved the screens would adjust to make it look like real windows. WOW!

I like how they created the illusion where those targets looked like it was coming out of the screen. Imagine this for the future:

A huge 6 x 2 metre screen. A head tracking boxing game where the opponent looked like he was outside of the screen fighting you. Perhaps Wii does have a future lol!
