iPod help

Last year I got an iPod nano and I have had many problems with it. My current problem is that I cant sync my songs with the iPod. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the iPod and iTunes countless times. I can put songs onto iTunes but when I go to sync with the iPod i get the following message:

"Attempting to copy to the disk "<name of iPod>" failed. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

I have the latest version of iTunes and the latest update for the iPod and they all downloaded and installed without a problem.

Can someone please help me fix this thing before I throw it out the window?

That happened to me.

Backup all your music (use a program like copypod - can send it to if you want), than goto iTunes and click reformat iPod (Its on the new version of iTunes). Make sure your musics backed up properly though.
