Manoa VOSAWAI (Overmach Cariparma, esordiente, flanker/n.8)[/b]

I see that this time you've added a bit more.. colour.

Perfect squad for Italy to take to the World Cup, same pool of players that have consistently performed over the last 2 years straight plus a few new high performance additions. Now, the empasis is on Pez to show that he can settle the nerves at fly half, he hasn't exactly been the most stable stand off in Italian rugby.

Also, isn't it nice to see so many guys from Italian teams rather than a succession of guys from French and English teams. Shows Italian rugby is starting to mature me'thinks!

Parisse 6 ????

I think Bergamasco at 12 is overrated.

Which players in the backs were out of the 6N through injury?

I think both the Bergamasco brothers were first choice as far a Berbizier was concerned and both did sterling jobs in the Six Nations. Very brutal, very in your face and both were very ruthless when presented with an opportunity. Against Wales & Scotland they were both dazzling.

Personally, nit picking about Bergamasco does nothing to solve Italy's main problems, namely a reliable fly half and a replacement at Scrum half for post world cup.

Mirco Bergamasco was outstanding in the 6N... I dont think he is as good as his bro of course, but as far as backs go, he is one of our best. The only other option is to play Masi or Pratichetti at 12, which I dont trust just yet and prefer Bergamasco in any case.

As for Parisse 6, indeed he should be 8 and Im not sure what I was thinking at the time :) Sole is even a number 6 too... although Im not sure if it should be Sole or Zanni that we put on the field.

Or ex-Australian players e.g. Juliano Gardineri :p Although there are a couple of Kiwis in the squad, aren't there?

Woot to see Troncon and the Bergamascos in the side! Can't wait to see them up close on the field! :bravo:

You may stick your tounge out all you want but this Italian side is far more...er..Italian than it has been since forever!

I don't know about that, Prestwick..

Matias AGUERO - Argentina
Robert BARBIERI - Canada
David BORTOLUSSI - France
Gonzalo CANALE - Argentina
Pablo CANAVOSIO - Argentina
Martin CASTROGIOVANNI - Argentina
Roland DE MARIGNY - South Africa
Carlo Antonio DEL FAVA - South Africa
Santiago DELLAPE - Argentina
Paul GRIFFEN - New Zealand
Ramiro PEZ - Argentina
Kaine ROBERTSON - New Zealand
Josh SOLE - New Zealand
Marko STANOJEVIC - England
Manoa VOSAWAI - Fiji

Admittedly, their best players are "more" Italian - Bortolami, Troncon, Parrise(although.. hmm.. he too was born and raised in Argentina, after his father decided to go against the trend), the Bergamasco brothers, Lo Cicero - but still, at least half of this squad is imported.

i m waiting a surprise from Italy, the players are more experienced now,we are waiting the result

Bortolussi has disappointed me so far. Id give De Marigny a go now... he was good in the 6N. Vosowai maybe deserves a start also.
