Not that much of a surprise as they abbé showed everyone since 1991 but the fact the BBC actually did bid is surprising.

I'm guessing BBC got a taste of those huge viewing figures from the Women's World Cup last year and thought it was worth breaking the bank for the 2027 men's tournament. But ITV was never going to give up that ad revenue without a massive fight.
