I mean technically, in the UK you could justify seriously harming someone, even killing (to a degree) if you believe your life was at risk, it is allowed under 'reasonable force'.

Its just incredinly difficult to prove, and i doubt a slow, loopy Jeremy Clarkson punch would be enough lol

Your man Tymon, Production Lead, had been winding a lot of the TG team up across the whole series recording - not just in Yorkshire where the spat happened. If JC hadn't slapped him, someone else would have.
Once he thought things through, knowing he'd be sacked as well for his dereliction of Production duties, , he recanted on his decision not to press charges and copped £100K+.
