Japanese Rugby

Brave Lupus Tokyo won the JRLO Championship for the second season in a row. Back to Back baby! 👍 They beat the Kubota Spears this time.

Georgia vs Japan final ranking game before RWC2027 draw.
Whoever loses goes in band 3 and probably makes their pool the pool of death - though TBF with the round of 16 format, the pool doesn't matter much.

Japanese selection by experience:
- 1 debutant
- 4 more players with only 1 cap, including the starting right wing, and Harry Hockings whose YC & 3 points conceded at 80' cost the Wales game. These two and #17 all debuted last week vs Wales.
- 13 players total with 8 caps or fewer (including 4 foreigners)
- In terms of mercenaries, there are 7 who were educated outside Japan

So compared with Japan's other games this year, only slightly less experience and only slightly more mercenaries. They've been gradually introducing a new generation and building depth all season, and today's match is no exception.

Is Georgia as good as Wales? Or can Japan win with this development side?
We're about to find out
