JPNvSA Rematch?

Have been thinking about this since Jday+1. Will it ever happen? Any chance we play them in 2019? Has anyone read anything about a possible rematch? Would anyone even like to see it happen? Discuss please.

Personally, I hope they don't play each other for a long while- a year or so at least.

My logic for this is that there was so much positivity created about the Tier 2 nations from that win that I think is going to drive Japan on in its development, as well as inspire other Tier 2 countries. It should also help spark debate, if not change, e.g. Relegation and promotion (in whatever form) in the Six Nations.

So I hope they don't play, because it was a bit of a fluke, and all a rematch would gain would be a bit of a salve on wounded Bok pride. Which, considering they lost narrowly to the irrefutably best team in the world, they don't really need.

Sure, I understand what you're saying, and it's not like these two teams were fighting to play eachother before the RWC. Surely a test should be in the books though? With the gap between T1 and T2 becoming smaller, and the massive boost in the T2 teams this RWC (esp japan), i'd like to think the blossoms would love to push the point that they are becoming threatening, and i'm sure the boks would have plenty to prove. If the japanese play the same or better, and hungry springboks show up it could be a cracker. I assume that Japanese rugby will be looking to play as much test rugby as possible before 2019, so why not a rematch; seems it would be a great tester (so prehaps 1 year before the next world cup?) Anyways, i mostly want this match for revenge purposes! One can only hope I guess
