There was talk not long ago about a game involving Australian representatives from both codes playing each other in one half of union and one have of league. Pick your respective teams in the opposite code.

Hahahahahaha Matt Rogers.

He'll brag about how hard and awesome he is, attempt a cheap shot, get absolutely nailed and then whinge about it for the rest of his career....

Pssst... You can't usse sailor... He's still banned for being a coke snorting shithead.

This kinda thing used to happen on a regular basis over here, although it was between club teams (never seen one, but my dad remembers seeing quite a few). Apparently the union team always won by large margins which isn't surprising when you think about it. Union has so many more technicalities which means they have a big advantage. Therefore in the 'league half' the union team can almost keep up, as they posses all the skills necessary, whereas the league players struggle hugely with rucking, scrummaging, linouts etc. in the 'union half'. This is shown by the success of cross code transfers, good union players are often successful going over to league, whereas league players coming to union often struggle.

Would be nice to see a match between two international lineups with a couple weeks to prepare though!

I thought this thread would be comparing the current status of the two sports in this country.

I cant imagine any leaguies going into a union front row. I don't know if Jarryd Hayne can kick, but he's been the best player in the NRL this year.

Oops, my mistake then, I apologize. By the way, why have you put Michalak in the second row?

another mistake, number 9 in league is hooker... which is across between a Union scrum half and hooker/ back rower. Second rows are 11 and 12 I believe

I'd personally have Hunt at 15. Purely because of his rugby union experience. Although he'll soon be off to Japanese Rugby Union and become a moot point. And then to the AFL so everyone in Australia can laugh at him.

The main problem for the Aussie League team is can they come up with 16 or so players of international standard who aren't currently facing some time in court ;)
