We will all die old men before we play NRL Manager. Seriously - how long has that game been in development for?

Know I know that Priddo is doing all of this in his spare time but I for one am not holding my breath waiting for the game to be released.

Rugby Challenge is good, but it just seems like an uncompleted version of a game.. like a beta infact.

The game i would like to see would be very similar to JLR or Rugby Challenge but it would have the following features:-

- Feature to make club and national team player transfers
- Extended rugby player/team database with players for transfer
- Career mode with real club and national teams
- More leagues, competitions and clubs (i.e argentina, japan, italy)
- Player editor with feature to make faces and body (Fa'atau's tattoos)
- Kit selector before a game
- Proper stats recording for competitions
- Classic teams

If that could be done, and i'm sure it could it'd eliminate a lot of problems from RC2006 and JLR. I wonder if i can get an emulator for PS1 for JLR.. [/b]

Personally, my ideal rugby game would just be JLR with real graphics and physics, plus a season mode with in depth management/customisation and a persistent, expansive rugby world: all tournaments across the world take place through a season (including sevens), players age and their skills change and everything can affect everything else (persistent) i.e. if a player is injured in a club match, he won't be availiable for international selection during his injury.

In my opinion, JLR's gameplay was flawless, and all Swordfish needed to do to improve it was to expand upon it (and improve graphics). EA are getting closer to it than Swordfish are (personally, I thought RC 2006 was another step backwards), but unless they make some really big changes, they're still a long way off.

Haha Jonah Lomu Rugby was the best rugby game ever. Much better than the crap rugby games they produce these days.

If there were an updated versions, maybe just a bit better graphics but same speed in play. Updated players, more modes.

Btw there is new rugby manager game coming out www.blackoutrugby.com still in beta though.

I would love a rugby manager game, after PRM2 i was hoping for a PRM3 but it's obviously not gonna happen.

i'd like to see a rugby game on the nintendo ds

mabye you could draw out the passes on the touch screen? then you could get a really good running game with lots of slick moves going...

imagine wifi play with loads of rugby fans around the world! it would be brlliant!

maybe one day it will appear on xbox live like tons of other games

Lol you never know. every other game is on there. They just released a crappy tron game on there the other day! That would be a cool game if it was properly done. Haha 3d light cycle battles!!

My question is why didnt they make a follow up of JLR way back in the 90's? It was such a hit back then, it seems strange they didnt capitalise on it further

Yeah, I reckon if they capitalized on JLR's oringinal success by making a new version of it, it would be massive. Everyone would buy it. But theres the problem of calling it "Jonah Lomu Rugby".

Is he really that big of a name anymore for the younger guys out there who aren't on a forum and really don't hear about his amazing playing days?

Then again, look at Madden. I suppose it would still work.

BRING ON JLR 2010!

They dont have to call it JLR. Look at ricky ponting cricket. Wasnt that formally knowen as Shane Warne Cricket? I love that game too lol i think that was about the same time as JLR aswell.
They could change it to another name.. just who that would be is anyone's guess because there is noone that REALLY stands out like Jonah did atm. Maybe one person for each country. So the name would change for each country. i.e. NZ = dan carter rugby LOL personally i dont back it but meh.

Haha yeah Shane Warne Cricket '99 was an aboslute classic. I remember playing it on the original playstation and getting quadruple centuries with the likes of Mark and Steve Waugh in test matches on the easiest mode. You could stand on one side of the pitch and somehow fly over, at the last second when you swing, to the other side. Great stuff.

i am sick of reading of how good the good ole days were

and then languishing on the current state of affairs

need next gen versions of cricket n rugby ASAP!!!!!!!!

RPIC is only good online - shocking SP

Rugby games are rare and far between despite rugby's popularity because these gaming programmers did not have rugby as their main sport....they were too busy fiddling on their computers when their peers were out on the field smashing each other haha! They had no time to turn off their computers and touch a rugby ball....or watch rugby on TV lol!

been playing jonah on ps1 it's hard to play after playing all the other ones ea and swordfish but is still one of the best rugby games out there

oh its so frustrating having no next gen game, i know everyone says the same but seriously. They brought out a ping pong game?? i hear its very good though, why doesn't EA step up or maybe an european developer make one. If Swordfish were to step up on realism with their efforts, maybe EA may have a contender!! Ah well!! How about Brian Moore Rugby!! hahaha now thats a laugh! it would have funny commentry at least, histerical!

Ping pong is HUGE in eastern Asian. Bigger than soccer even. Maybe we missing out on something profoundly entertaining? LOL

I agree with JLR comments. Legendary. Some people hit jedi level with that game. BTW isn't it nuts that you can play with teams like Sri Lanka?! Crazy
