im a big fan of the ospreys but how the hell did they beat stad francais (cant spell) ospreys pulled out a hell of a preformance and was outstanding they really deserved to win good on you lets see were we can get now

Congratulation to Neath Swansea, even if it was at home and that the Stade Français was depleted by injuries, this is a big performance.

Ospreys weren't at full strength either so even bigger credit deserved.

The Osprey's win was suprising, but I don't think this is going to inspire them to great things.

The return leg against Stade will be a different matter, and in the meantime they have to play both Clement and Leicester home and away. Not a promising prospect.

I still can't see any welsh teams making the quarters. Winning on the road in France will be very tough.

they can lose in France but they have the problem of getting a win in England as well.

Montferrand (Clermont Auvergne) are indeed going to be a bloody handfull, especially with Stephen Jones playing his first game back. Leicester Tigers are also going to be a massive ask. But you never know. If the Ospreys Welsh players have a good game against the Southern Hemispher sides then this again could lift them up.

The matter of how they won is simple .Who the f@*k is gonna lose to a side wearing pink!!!!!!!!!!

You may be right but I doubt this is as bas as for the Stade Français which have 14 of their 26 professional players out of service, more than 50%

But it was only the previous weekend that they'd beaten Stade Toulousain and presumably they didn't get all their injuries after that match.

Bear in mind as well that Stade Français have considerably more financial clout and can afford a bigger depth squad than the likes of the Ospreys, therefore keeping them competitive despite the injuries they'll no doubt face throughout the season.

Right, they got Dominici and a flanker injured during the Toulouse game as far as I remember, Liebenberg and Pichot were injured later during training sessions. At the moment they have no back up for the locks, hopefully some front rower should be back this week-end. The Stade Français pack will be made of U21 and U23 players in November due to the Test Matchs, their front row will play for France and Argentina in November.

In term of finance they are the 4th or 5th budget in France, very far from Toulouse (15 M. â'¬) or Clermont (11 M. â'¬) for example. They have 26 professional players under contract at the moment.

I wouldn't have thought they were that far behind in terms of budget, maybe it's just the way the president portrays the club, you'd think they were in the top 3 at least.

The reason why there are so many Argies and Italians in the Stade Français is because these players ask for lower wages than French international players.

but isnt mad max, the richest person within french rugby?

and hes there benefactor.

still doesn't necessarily mean he'll put up the biggest budget in the league though.

Not at all, the biggest benefactors are the boss of Gemeni Sogeti (one of the biggest European Software company) who controls both Biarritz and Grenoble, or Pierre Fabre (a big Pharmaceutical company) for Castres or Michelin (the biggest Tyre company in the world) for Clermont. Max Guazzani is a rich man but not a billionaire.
