Im playing in a leinster final this saturday and im just wondering what should i be eating this week coming into the match should i be carbo loading?

And in the hours approaching the match should i have carbohydrates or should i be stocking up on quicker energy eg . glucose ?

and at half time any ideas on something to keep myself and the lads going ?

Ice-cream, burgers, chips, Guinness, milk-shake, baileys and a nice big baguette full of bacon.

That should set you up nicely!

pasta and stuff during the week and i pretty sure bannas work fairly well just before the game not sure about the bannas tho.

Yeah bananas are good, full of energy,
You're on the right track with the carb loading beforehand, on the morning have oats (if you don't like porridge then flapjacks and the like are good
I've never eaten at halftime/in the runup, because i just feel sick as anything if i exercise after eating, so the most i'll have is an isotonic drink (lucozade sport and things of that sort) just because they're full of sugar which is just quick energy

Yeah. Nothing too heavy in the day before or on the day of the match. General carbs in the week like pasta and such and any isotonic drink before/ during the match should be good.
Also, make sure you're hydrated. Drink loads for a few days before,

It's important however to not drink too much as the Kidneys may begin to work overtime which will tire your body out without you even knowing. I find that a red apple about 10 minutes prior to the match keeps me going

bananas are the best thing for energy I always find. I have em in bran flake cereal on the morning of matches because I find bananas just kind of make me feel sick when I just have them on their own... dunno why

The gay man is afraid of long round shaped objects? You putting them in the wrong hole to make you sick or something?

On topic, oatmeal, musli, stuff like that. Don't have anything cooked, oatmeal is slow release energy, eat it about two hours before your game, which should be about one hour before you start warming up and preparing. Don't have sugars, that is a major no no, quick release energy will make you lethargic in an hour or two.
