Premiership Rugby 21/22 - Rd 6

Turns out he was in Falcons academy first then Sarries poached him,
Similar to Hodge with Exeter (who also went to Sedbergh)

Well he was at Sale Sharks before Falcons and was a Sale Sharks fan sooooooo

Would've been a better signing than hammersley tbh

Playing "always look on the bright side of life'... well done your beating a 3rd string team with your international team.. congrats.

TBF can only beat what's in front of you.

Maybe we can tempt him back, he's still mates with all his school pals (Rodd, Roebuck, Curtis etc)

Would be a good signing that would make a lot of sense.

Just a Sh**ty choice of song.. its just horrible having to watch knowing that we can do so much better but not wanting to turn off because u want to keep supporting.

I will say this Jimmy Gopperth is still sensational.

Ffs Carley why is that double roll allowed u pinged is for it, honestly drives me mad when a team with all the momentous and dominance is simply allowed to get away with **** you punished the other way

I'd argue blocking with Ricconi went through but it doesn't matter. you know what ... 2 points less than bath scored and 15 points less conceded than Bath ...

Are we really using baths fire performance as a benchmark, if so they had home advantage too….

Wasps were a lot better than Bath were and they were playing with pretty much their first choice starting XV.

Simmonds was in a brace post game, Cruse had a head knock, Morris picks up at hamstring injury too and we learnt Robson has a groin injury and Harris is out for a while too.

You just couldn't make it up. I don't understand what on earth is going on. Injury list is as follows

Charlie Atkinson, Alfie Barbeary, Malakai Fekitoa, Dan Frost, James Gaskell, Ben Harris, Joe Launchbury, Michael Le Bourgeois, Rob Miller, Ryan Mills, Paolo Odogwu, Gabriel Oghre (suspended), Dan Robson, Sam Spink, Theo Vukasinovic and Jack Willis and now Tom Cruse (HIA), Ben Morris (Knee) and Will Simmonds (Ankle/Knee)

So even if Robson/Le Booj are fit next week, we are down to even barer bones. Oghre is back next week and luckily Bath will be without their England players. So most likely we will play.

Hislop, Oghre, JTA, Stooke, Fifita, Shields, Young, T Willis, Robson (If Fit), Umaga, Gopps, McHenry, Bassett, Kilbrige, Crossdale

Subs: West, Harrison, Scholtz, Cardall, Carr (If Fit) , Hougaard, Le Booj (if fit) , Watson

Other Players: Alo, Millar-Mills, Nearchou (recalled from Ampthill), De Chaves, Curran, Porter, Wolstenholme, Matthews, Gray, Mehson, Anderson,

Not a great sign, think Bath might pick up their first win.

Maybe overworked in pre season? Too much contact in training?

Side doesn't look too bad tbh
But as BT sport were saying: wasps will have a number of players who will he fit for the weekend, but won't be fit to train fully so that then impacts effectiveness of combinations and fluidity in the side

Very true.. We looked disjointed but that's what happens when we can't string 2 matches with same pairings together. TBF we can string together a XV and bench but it's just crazy when you think of the strength that can be added when J Willis, Launchbury, Gaskell, Barbeary, Cruse, Fekitoa, Odogwu, Mills etc can bring back in.

Bath have been rubbish. I mean really, really rubbish.

You'll probably end up facing something like:

Boyce, Dunn, Rae, McNally, Williams, Ellis, Reid, Coetzee (if fit), Simpson, Cipriani, McConnochie, Ojomoh, Joseph, Rokoduguni, de Glanville (if fit)

Subs: du Toit, Schoeman, Jonker, Richards?, de Carpentier, Fox, Bailey, Muir

Some good players in there but even with a depleted side Wasps seem to be way more motivated. Bath would need to be significantly better and for Wasps to be significantly worse to win IMO.

Wasps are negotiating a bad, but temporary injury crisis whereas Bath are in a crisis that doesn't look like it can/will end under the current regime.

True.

I'd say once we get over this bad run I'd like to think in theory we could field one of the strongest 23's in the league. My team would still be

West, Barbeary, JTA, Launchbury, Fifita, J Willis, Young, T Willis, Robson, Umaga, Mills, Fekitoa, Bassett, Odogwu, Crossdale (Hislop, Oghre, Scholtz, Stooke, Shields, Hougaard, Gopps, Watson)

I still get amused when you put Barbeary at 2.
