Australia will be approaching record odds on favourites to defeat the tournament's surprise package in what is undoubtedly the USA's biggest game in their history.

Kick off in an hour or so. Be very, very surprised if this is anything but Australia by 50+. The Tomahawks have been game and have fought bravely but they're going to get overpowered here.

Thats pretty much exactly what happened Olly, Tomahawks were spirited by OZ just way too classy and superior in all facets. The magic sort of ran out for the Tomahawks today but they can be proud of the rest of their tournament. Now on to the two QF's that should be more competetive!!!

USA should be very proud of their tournament but they were always going to get a huge beating by a very accomplished Australian team. It was good to watch though, some ferocious handoffs!

Hayne and Jennings have both showed that they are better and more deserving centres than Tate now - hopefully Sheens decides to leave him out of the big matches now. Slater injury a slight concern, but the options are again Hayne or Inglis, so we're not going to lose much.

It was only a reoccurrence of a minor injury wasn't it? Aussies will want everyone fit for the game against Samoa next week (assuming they qualify) because they will tear into the Kangaroos.

It's an irritating loss, but to be honest as good as Slater is it's not as big a loss as Luke Lewis I don't think. Lewis is such an influential player for any side he's in, and there's not quite the cover in the back row that there is at FullBack.
Looks like the 'Roos are playing Fiji - another possibly bruising encounter, but it won't be anywhere near as brutal as England v NZ. SBW v the Burgess boys again - can't wait.
