Round 11. Hurricanes v Cheetahs

Just one question on the loosies- yeah messrs. Collins, Masoe and Big Rod certainly ran holes through the Cheetahs defense, but did they really do their primary job, in securing possession in the loose? With the Cheetahs gaining close on 70% of the possession, methinks not.

OK, so they played into space extremely well, but against a better organised defense, and with a backline that actually knows what its doing, the Canes would`ve been on the receiving end of a pretty big hiding. If the Canes played like that against the Saders, imagine the field day mr. McCaw would`ve had in the loose, playing tight towards the ball, with the Canes backrow looking to crash through everything? And not to mention what a certain mr. Carter could`ve done with that surplus possession.

No, IMO the Canes were actually pretty ordinary, especially the back row in their prime function. The difference being that the Cheetahs were plain Shite, full stop.

I'd go with 'very ordinary'.
Most of the second half they where just srambling in defence. I for one was not that impressed.
