Hi guys,

Had my first team meeting yesterday, a stag. Some good fun and plenty of beers.
The coach told me he wants to play me at lock, so I really need to give it my best at the trials so he can see I can play on different positions.

As for now I will be a lock I was wandering what size of scrum hat I would need. Quite a big head :D
Any suggestions for brands are welcome, I was thinking Gilbert.
Also some advice on online shops would be great. I would order mouth and head guard together.

Cheers.

i had a koo ga one for two seasons was quite good i pick mine on how well i can here out of it but thats just my little thing
ilbert do good ones id go gilbert or koo ga

thnx mate, any advice on the size. tight as hell or still some space to share?

Which online store would you advice?

Cheers.

Im a big fan of the Canterbury ones. I've had Kooga and Gilbert and they were not comfortable or great for me.

Check there for some of their head-guards ... they just brought some colours out for Canterbury range.

Regarding size ... you need it tight but not not to tight. It should not be lose.

How about Adidas or Puma? Any experience with them?

For me Puma is not great when I tried one on, I don't mind Addidas but I felt it was not going to be comfortable or I felt 100% happy and safe with it.

I never wore a scrum cap despite playing a lot of 2nd row and No.8. I found it hard to hear my temmates calling to me (or to bollock me when I dropped the ball) and went without one.

I don't wear one all the time, but when I do I do Canterbury!

I've ordered a lot of stuff from RugbyStore.co.uk and have been pleased (and remember, I live in the US not the UK). I've also ordered from Lovell Rugby. I prefer Rugby Store, though.
I don't have any experience with adidas or puma or optimum, etc... RugbyTech I hear make a good one too.
I'd just go with something that fits your style and check the size guides on the websites: http://www.rugbystore.co.uk/sizechart
