I know there are mixed feelings about Squidge's content on here but I think it can be agreed that what Six Nations Rugby is doing here is pretty poor form.

This is where you can contact them directly to try and appeal the decision. The way I see it, all videos like Squidge's can do is grow the sport and give it some much needed publicity and attention. Squidge is rugby's biggest content creator at the moment and it'd be a real shame to see him wiped out.

Stupid move by 6N! As you say the only thing Squidge does is increase interest in the sport. Will lodge an appeal for what it's worth.

Not really a fan of his content but agree this is a bad move on the 6N's behalf pretty much bullying tactics as you'd think his channel would fall under fair use/dealing. They should realise his type of content is only good for them. Seems to be very old fashioned thinking from them.

Especially given that they can just copyright strike it so that they get the ad revenue without removing the content, can't they?

But everyone seems to be missing;

Guinness Six Nations (@SixNationsRugby) Tweeted:
@SquidgeRugby We have been in contact with you by DM and are happy to work through this with you. https://twitter.com/SixNationsRugby/status/1162722574649954304?s=17

Seems like he's whipping up an internet frenzy, wonder why that could be?
Yeah, I don't really buy that as anything more than an attempt to save face. The way in which Six Nations went about striking the videos shows that they clearly want the channel down, and if they were really interested in communicating with Squidge then they could've done it before striking the videos. Their reply is a response to the backlash, not a genuine attempt to cooperate.

The way people are talking about this would make you think that the 6N board had a meeting about this and decided to take the harshest action possible when probably this is just whoever's in charge of copyright there indiscriminately taking stuff down.

It's ridiculous that the videos were taken down and it's poor form, especially as these videos do far less harm than good for the tournament, but this isn't some evil power move from the 6N as a whole.

That said I hope they backtrack and that the videos can say up because this is just silly, it's an incredibly old-fashioned view of how to control your content and the sooner those in charge of sport admin cop on about this it's better for everyone, it's impossible to keep your content off the internet, the sooner they realise it's basically free advertising the better.

The stupid thing is lots of the clips are free to view on the bloody internet anyway uploaded by the official channels.

At most it could be a claim about monetizing the content (I assume he maybe gets some revenue?) in which case surely they can simply work out some deal. The idea that they are losing out in any way as a result is laughable.

Haven't got the linked tweet on hand but Squidge out up a tweet saying they're working through it, which presumably means the videos will be back up and the strikes removes with the 6N getting the profits or something like that (I'm not an expert at all). Seems fair enough though.
