SuperRugby: Blues v Sharks. 13/04/2012

Moli did a lot of good things in the game and this year in general but it's true he is dropping a lot of ball - I think he is a guy the blues need to persist with though. Ball security should be something a player can fix easy with the help of a good coach... maybe that's where the problem is...

Bad loss for the blues, when you can play well for the most part and even outplay the oposition for most of the game and still get beaten it's gong to hurt. Two intercept trys for the sharks and another from a clear knock on will be hard for the blues to swallow because if they did just a few things better they would have won the game without too much effort. And it does boil down to cutting out 50-50 passes and increasing ball security - two fundameltals of the game really. And when things like that are the problem I think you do look at the coaching...

NZRU need to get Rob Penny into the picture and make sure he knows he's next in line and will be needed at the blues. Penny will have a lot of interest overseas after his sucess with canterbury NPC team. After him I dont see an obvious choice without knowing were the likes of JK are at.

I agree with this.

They have the players in the forwards and some in the backs, where they do not just need to go wide 90% of the time. I mean Keven has made a career for the All Blacks doing just that so I don't see why they don't pound it up the gut/ruck area more.

Plus they have guys like Rnager and Nonu, 1 or 2 passes after first receiver just to try and bust it up. This would mean they don't get too predicatble.

I like the idea of Penney coaching. But I don't think the NZRU can retain him at the possibiltiy of a job for the Bleus, whereas he can get bigger money overseas with an actual offer.
