Team Rankings in Rugby 05

In rugby 04 there was ratings given to each team in respect to defence, attacking, flair...bla bla bla

Is there a ranking system in Rugby 05 aswell?

Also...what are the rankings like?

I would guess that the All Blacks are at no.1
followed by the Wallabies and then maybe the Boks?

Does anyone know what the rankings of the teams look like?

There was a thread about this before and from what i could remember England was first then New Zealand wich is absolutely *****.

But anyway aslong as the boks are rated good i'd be happy.

I cant believe they got the English as ranked no.1!!!!!
Beeing a Bok fan this is difficult to say but the All Blacks and Wallabies are far better teams!!!

Yeah, there was a thread before, but it is buried back a few threads (I've posted it at the bottom of this)

Anyway, what we know for certain is something like this (courtesy of ak47 reporting back from the Sydney training camp, and Locks' posting of some demo footage):

Out of 100:

England are 92
New Zealand are 89
Australia are 88

The Lions will probably be ranked higher, but I don't think higher than a 95.

And that's it! Unless Locks or someone with the game decides to spill the beans, you'll probably have to wait until the game comes out (or, as far as I can see, anyone from the States -- me -- as we might get it early).

... So are the Boks, French and Irish mate! The poms are at the bottom of the international barrel at the moment...

That's great...But I wouldn't like the Idea if the Boks are ranked at 5th or 6th!!!

At least 4th!

O'well...it's all in the game play...not so much the rankings!

Would be nice if they had the domestic rugby tournaments in the game aswell. But for now Super 12 will have to do!

I think personally the rankings should be sumthin like this


1) New Zealand
2) Australia
3) South Africa
4) France
5) Ireland
6) Wales
7) Scotland
8) England
9) Argentina

But if it was rated on Backlines only the order would look way different.

I think they just used the rankings in R2004 again. ********

Oh well time to wipp the english again with the boks to show we are number 1

The thing I like about the All Blacks and Wallabies is the intensity in witch the game is played! It is a known fact that the best tournament out there (apart from World Cup) is the Tri Nations.

Nothing can compare with this!
The sportsmanship of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa is by far the best!
The reason I’m saying this is because in the 6 nations there are a couple of “soft†games…but the Tri Nations is a different story! The top 3 in the world facing each other on a weekly basis!

Now what compares to that????

Nah ur right - Nothing can compare to the tri nations.

I already bought myself a season ticket at a Mugg & Bean to watch the super 12 and the tri nations there.


Can't wait for this season to kick off.

ENGLAND IS WAY OVERRATED. And if i ever here a pom shout Barmy Army i will personally play my Leon Shuschter rugby cd 24-7

I think you were right with the first one.

I guess the good thing about watching the rugby tournaments on tv in the States is that you get a VERY early start on the drinking.

2 austarlia
3 france
4 england
5 south africa
6 ireland
7 wales
8 argentina
9 scotland
10 italy

its a tough one tho. england are not what they were, but play badly at the mo. france were awsome last season, but lack luster this and south africa are 3N champs but got stuffed over here last year. so 3,4&5 could be any way.

There is no way the poms are better than the Boks....nor Ireland for that matter! Wales also nipping the ass of England.

I would rather say this is whishfull thinking of a bruised england suporter.

im actually not a pom supporter, i lived in new zealand for eight years and so feel fairly objective. boks arent worldbeaters and with england well depleted team the did you guys over last year. you have a case for ireland although wales have a fair way to go.

Lets put it this way...let the English tour SA for a change.
According to the IRB rankings the english are 6th with the Boks on 3...i'm sure those guys know what the true reflection on "the better team" is.

I'm thus not gonna argue with the fact that the Boks are ranked higher.

You are crazy, mate.

England lower than Scotland? England lower than Wales? Yeah I know they beaut us in the 6 Nations, but the team we used was unrecognisable as England, with so many players injured.

England are probably better than Ireland.

England beat SA in the Autumn Tests didn't we? (I'm not being cheeky here I honestly don'e remember)
