The refereeing of the 2010 Tri Nations

Throwing the ball away still wastes time.

True , I thought he would have penalty for that , The Aussie winger Mitchell got carded for something much less obvious that that.Still dont justify the smack or some of you guys loved to say the attack in the facial area. According to some Mccaw like Burger is now a thug and dirty player and should be banned for at least 4 weeks ?

Burger, like Mccaw this w\end only did this once last year when he got banned and labbelled a thug by many.

Also whats your thoughts on the shoulder charge of Franks on Juan De Jongh ? It was against a man whose arms were tied and in the head region ? The ref saw it and penalised Franks so it seems that he agreed that Franks Transgressed , I am surprised at -

Firsly he was not cited because he was not carded in the game and according to the the offense must be deemed a red card offence for citing to take place and if Jean De Villers citing is the yard stick then this certainly qualifies

Secodnly the silence of the citing commisioners here at TRF who so eagerly pointed out Bok transgression week in and out. Do you still feel that the reffing and citings are fair ? This is yet another example that frustrates us many South Africans.

This passage is entirely inappropriate to this forum.

Fully Agree , Hopefully it gets moderated.

Burger throwing the ball away was a nothing I think it was Springbok ball anyway. Would've been sad to see Burger carded for something like that he had a good game Burger, good to see him show his strength in one of his tries.

what i was trying to get at was the fact mr obrien goes and personally says sorry to the all blacks when he feels their hard done by,but i didnt see him do it over the roussow incident, which to me was identical to the mcaw attacking burgers eyes[ok i admit that might be exaggerating a little bit]
but i still have a gripe with grewcock getting banned for a supposed bite on mealamu's fingers when the only proof was a little teeth mark on his finger, i mean if it was an intentional bite it would have tore those chubby fingers in half

Yes I feel he was SA's player of the tournament , actually he should get the SA rugby player of the year award this year if he contunies his great form.

Smartcooky and co , your silence on the citing issues are deafening

Point taken much better without the inappropriateness :)

That is quite possibly the stupidest thing i have read on this forum.

Interesting Paddy O'briens take on the forward pass prior to Ritchies try

Hang on.... isn't Paddy O'Brien supposed to be biased towards New Zealand. Why would he then object to a forward pass being missed leading to an All Black try?

Oh, so we are defending the indefensible.

Would this be the same Danny Grewcock who has quite probably the worst disciplinary record of any rugby player in the modern era.... 18 yellow cards and 4 red cards for a range of vicious offenses that include stamping on players heads and arms, biting, kicking and punching.

1998: five-week ban for kicking a player in a test at Carisbrook
2002: five week ban for stamping on halfback Kyren Bracken
2003: two-week ban for punching Lawrence Dallaglio
2004: six-week ban after for reckless use of the boot on Dan Carter
2005: nine week ban suspension for biting
2007: one week ban for stamping
2007: twenty week ban for punching (that long due to previous disciplinary record).
2007: six week ban for punching in the ECC final
2010:seven week ban for stamping on the forearm of Stephen Ferris

A total of 61 weeks suspended in a 12 year professional career; that's more that a whole year banned.

Grewcock is a loose cannon who gives Rugby Union a bad name. He ought to have been outed from Rugby permanently.

the fact is there was no evidence that he bit mealamu,he only got suspended on mealamus word the same mealamu who couldnt recall dropping o'driscoll on his head, all obrien is saying that the refs need help from technology he wasnt criticizing the ref or offering an apology to the boks and nor should he for a forward pass, he should apologise though for the fact mcaw wasnt sin binned for killing the ball when a certain try was about to be scored or for his attack on burgers eye

You said yourself there were teeth marks. And if we are dredging up history to testify to a players character then this is taken from Grewcocks own wikipedia page:

He earned a five-week ban for a kicking offence after being sent off in 1998 at Carisbrook and six years later he copped a six-week suspension after being found guilty of reckless use of his boot on Daniel Carter. When he returned in 2005 with the Lions, Grewcock was banned for two months for biting Keven Mealamu's finger, which had somehow found its way into Danny's mouth. The suggestion that Mealamu had been in the process of hooking Grewcock's mouth was not proven, but the length of suspension given to Danny was way below that usually given to a player found guilty of biting.
At home in 2002 he was outed for five weeks for stamping on halfback Kyran Bracken in a club game, then a year later had a two-week spell for punching Lawrence Dallaglio.
There was a one-week stand down for stamping in 2007 and later that year he was banned for several months for punching.
In 2007 Danny was banned for 6 weeks for punching Clermont Auvergne's Thibault Privat in the European Challenge Cup final.[2]
On 23 January 2010 Danny was shown a straight red for stamping on the forearm of Ulster's Stephen Ferris in a Heineken Cup game while playing for Bath. Ulster went on to win the game 28-10.[3]

But no, foul play from Danny Grewcock? nah. Kevin Mealamu must have bit himself that makes a bit more sense..

no he was bitten but it was most likely accidental cos mealamu had the tiniest of a tooth mark on his finger that he showed the ref and it was mealamu who put his finger in his mouth accidentally, i dont need wikipedia for my facts ther all stored in my brain

Along with correct spelling, gramar and punctuation?

Thought not.
