What's important to note is America have always pushed the expense of AI projects to deter other smaller nations from pursuing their own projects because they couldn't afford it.
Deepseek has now shown you don't have to spend billions on the latest hardware and brains and can be done with a fraction of the costs.
This is why US tech stocks have taken a hit, why throw hundreds of billions at projects with questionable returns unless you price it high? When now the same can be achieved with a mere cost of maybe a couple hundred million, and doesn't have to be priced as high so a return is much more achievable.
Funny how openai accuse this considering how they scraped the internet including forums like here without paying anyone.
