Man Toulouse better fkn have smt to show in Biarritz. If there's ONE match they can win on the road, it sure is this one, and considering they can't win on the road but have a perfect home rec....oh no wait, they don't anymore...pressure's on and they shouldn't be looking at bonus this or that but for a goddamn victory this weekend.
Without their internationals, Castres won't even make it interesting in Toulon, a side hungry to get back into contention.
I reckon Stade Fraises-bananes could've taken this one on the road, but too many absentees, but I'll bet they make it very close.

Okay so all home wins but Toulouse in Biarritz as a joker, because I'm not nearly convinced saying that.

Too early in the week to give predictions lets see first if the clubs will play the so called 12 French Internationals who have ben asked to be rested by PSA? I was at training today and nobody really knew whether they could play or not. We have Nico Mas on standby but FTD will be able to play if selected. The other excellent order of the day is: Fabienn Galthie will not be present for the away game against Clermont on the 22 Feb as he will be commentataing for France A2, he was not at Toulouse this weekend same reason so maybe watch out Clermont's unbeaten 72 home match record, the mails between the 2 clubs have already started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any chance GLG you can post how exactly this agreement between club and country is supposed to work?

As far as i can make out the so called contrat between the two parties is not written in stone but more verbal than anything else the Presidents of Toulouse and Clermont are by far happy bunnies, the Toulouse President is talking of taking them all to a tribunal at the moment, I spoke with Nico Mas this morning and he really did not know whether he could play or not so we will have to see how it pans out this week, but its absolutely ridiculous, both parties dictating what the clubs can do on non International weekends, they have asked for the 12 players who started both 6N's games to be rested. Whether it works or not who knows but its just another case of the LNR and the FFR going at each like demented morans, but if you live in France its nearly a daily issue, power, politics and sport make one bit shi*** melting pot especially when neither will give in. Personally club politics i do not do too many little people fighting for their own personal power, but it does go on in all the clubs so you can imagine what its like between the LNR and the FFR.

So there's no actual written contract where basically your club receive €x compensation for assisting France and resting player. Like it's effectively the players in middle that loose out the most

12 players will most probably rested, yes. I think they all should be personally, but money - and nothing else - thinks otherwise, so be it.

The compensation the clubs get is virtaually nothing, this is another massive problem between clubs and FFR, as its the clubs that pay the monthly salary which of course everyone knows is humongus ( joking) as far as the players are concerned, its about the norm, they always lose out the political bodies have their say and basically thats that. It also means that the 12 rested will not play for 2 weeks their next game being against Wales a week on Fri, that also is not good. Match fitness can only be obtained playing games these guys are Pros and especially the forwards rarely play more than 60/65 mins per game

Well in a way I'd disagree and say after 2 international games guys will need break as them games do break you. But at asme time I understand clubs view as throughout whole 6Nations they loose their guys for what 4/5 games while also receiving them back a battered and with small compensation. It's surprising they never adopted a model like England although I know it's different in a way

According to Midol, it is actually written. Paragraph b of article 3.1.3 of the appendix to the agreement signed by the club presidents says
"Les joueurs seront autorisés à jouer sauf avis contraire du staff du XV de France motivé par la situation individuelle du ou des joueurs concernés"

That is: players will be allowed to play, except if the national side coaching team opposes, on a case-by-case basis. All this is written concerning matchdays 19 (this weekend) and 21. So I think the fuss comes from the lack of discussion about it and the suddenness of the situation. Indeed the paragraph before the quoted one says that there will be a meeting between the coaching staff ad the clubs to discuss this, and common sense would have said this meeting was to be had a few weeks ago.

What you posted from the Midol does not mean a lot, and they often get it wrong, as its more or less is an acknowledgement, more than anything else, and this morning Boudjellal is saying that Bastareaud will play against Castres on Sat, he also says a lot often, but if one player plays there is a good chance that they all could all play, the trouble is, this agreement is very confusing and it not legal, as Boujedllal said this morning if they cant play, let the Stade De France and the FFR pay their wages, i have to agree for once with the Toulon Boss.

boy, clubs are getting feisty as hell. Boudjelal: "Bastareaud WILL play against Castres..." and Toulouse saying they won't release any of Picamoles, Nyanga and co.
Apparently only 6 of the desired 12 will be released. Even Clermont has said: "we don't really need our guys (Fofana, Domingo) but if we did we wouldn't have hesitated to take them back".
Injuries at tighthead in MP have forced Galthié to call Mas back...

Apparently though the law was written in the signed contract from some months ago, clubs "didn't understand" what that law really meant....yeah, right. Excellent argument there. So anyways our players should be released as late as Monday in stead of Friday as originally decided.

The agreement is written but not law, Montpellier is slightly different, Tuesday Mas sat out the training session and was may be not going to play, but since 2 injuries to front rows and he could now well play
Toulouse and Toulon are saying no to the agreement which leaves the other 6 players who as mentioned above will be rested. The is getting better than Dallas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe next episode tomorrow, still waiting for verdict on Laporte, should be out this afternoon, how long the ban could be, a while wait and see.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's perfectly ridiculous because the actual concepts at hand are absolutely necessary - France needs time together to play as a team, develop a true cohesive culture, chemistry, need rested fresh players, need their guys to keep their heads in the 6N and not return to Top 14 and then back to 6N.......so the concept of cohesion is a necessary, utterly logical one. We just simply shouldn't play any Top 14 during Feb and March, or at least the selected internationals shouldn't, or at very very least a good portion of those.

But of course, the world is illogical, and loves to complicate elementary logic - and it's in the form rather than in concept that the clubs and the FFR will disagree.
How have we not come up with a perfectly acceptable consensus at this point ? How are there so many issues with just one little tournament in Feb-til-mid-March ?
Perfectly ridiculous is where perfection lies in this tale.

The trouble is if you are the FFR the country comes first and if you are a club the club comes before counrty, well these guys do pay the wages, all that said its not easy, i agree that there should be no TOP 14 during the 6 Nations, but thats for the LNR and FFR to decide, but for these two to agree mountains would have to be moved, last year we played 3 games in 10 days because of i think it was a mumps outbreak, we actually won all three, if in 2 x 10 day periods the TOP 14 played 6 games, there would be no doublons especially if it was at the beginning of the season, the only trouble with that is Canal + will not want to televise two Wed night matches + people working, attendances would be down, if we added 4 more weeks to the year that may help and have a 56 week year in France.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at the end of the day is all about MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!

Wait for it Gastons predictions for the weekend. In an ideal world wins for Brive, Biarritz,Grenoble Oyonnax, Bayonne,Toulon + of course 5 points for Montpellier, but the real predictions are
ALL HOME WINS....................... The bunfight continues now Loronzetti, Racing Presidentis is saying all the clubs that play their Internationals are very bad boys because he is a goody two shoes and resting them, his that is.............. What a nice Chappie he is......... hip hip hooray for L......ZETTI

oh easy money for MP this one...Perpignan are just sinking deeper and deeper...and they sure are missing Mr. Guitoune, the Top 14 top try scorer. Top.

eager for Grenoble ASM tonight !

Good enough game Clermont in control all the game Grenoble hacked a Clermont knock on in their own 22 (with only mins to go) and ran after it another hack and its over the line and they score 7 pts. Clermont refused a try from Laportes favourite ref Cardona, and he gives Lee a yellow absolutely outrageous this guy should have the same done to him as William Wallace he was again utter crap missing a blatant penalty in the dying mins for Clermont in front of the posts which would have given the draw.
But great result for Montpellier as long as we win this evening 5 pts would be good. Also good to see Malzieu starting and getting on the score board.
