It gets stuck on the opening rugby 08 sign then closes. Is there something missing?

Downloaded Rugby 08 on my laptop a few weeks ago because my ps2 disc doesn't work anymore and its still the best rugby game on the planet. I literally wished that i could update the game's teams and leagues. Then i run into this website with all these mods for the game and i feel like i have just found treasure. Thank you soooo much to everyone who has been modding this game all these years. You guys are ******* awesome!!!!!
