URC - Round 16

I'm not sure if younwere at the Tolouse and Quins games from a few years ago, where Cardiff were playing children and semi pros...

The atmosphere was incredible, positive, loud and eager... it felt like a bit similar.
Yes I was there! Crazy days really, Dupont was insanely good that game as well, they didn't hold back with their selection despite the Cardiff team. Can't fault the passion from the crowd on those occasions, that's for sure.

Im watching the Bulls game on Premier Sports and they are not showing the score on the screen!
Maybe there is a special setting for Cardiff fans who dont want to see the score.

Glasgow will beat Benetton today. They're about ten minutes in with no score yet.

S4C showed the score unfortunately...

45 - 21 was a harsh scoreline, harsh on the Bulls dominance

Wow! Benetton beat Glasgow, 33-7 in Italy. I know Benetton has improved, but I didn't see a blow out coming.

We've gone from 3 Welsh sides being in contention for the top 8 to Scarlets being seemingly the Welsh only hope. I didn't expect Cardiff to get beaten so intensely and I don't think it will be better with the Stormers. If Scarlets win tomorrow I think they're in given Benetton and Munster will be battling each other and are currently on 46 points. Edinburgh will likely get their win at home vs Ulster too.

Lads, we've already lost Europe. No point pretending we're the best be marginally losing out to the clock against [URC team of the day].

Well done Scarlets. Though I am worried about how blown out they looked. Let's just hope the Sharks don't massacre them next week.

Why are there no fans at the south african games?
Lions games are not the same as all of the other South African games. The other SA teams are getting 20-35k in a week. The Lions always have terrible attendance because:
1) Their stadium is in one of the most dangerous parts of town. Nobody wants to go there
2) More a mitigant point, the camera at the Lions Stadium faces the stand that gets all the sunlight. Everyone prefers sitting in the shade so aren't on camera
3) The Lions have been performing quite poorly so fans haven't been pitching up
4) Lions have the smallest local fan base of the 4 SA teams

Reason number one is about 70% of the driver of low attendance. They won't rent out a smaller stadium because they own this one. They're getting likely between 7-15k in there, but it just always looks terrible when the stadium can hold 55k

Definately nothing to do with Cardiff losing their coach for 2 months while in 5th spot, and only winning 1 game since he went to help Wales get a humiliating wooden spoon...

In reality, Cardiff got 2 lucky wins before Xmas, put them in a much higher spot than they deserved, we will be back to 36 point mediocrity next season
