I'm not sold on Plumtree. Looks like a really good club player but not international standard. Reffell on the other hand is hands down international class.

Edit: just seen that was @Saintjay fault. He never gets it right.

I'm opposite to you, I don't see what Reffell offers at international level, great club player though he is. He would have been great 10 years ago when jacking was such a focal point, now most of the time someone else is pinged for not rolling, getting pinned by the opposition, fingers skimming the grass etc. so Refell proves to be a bit in effective, and doesn't offer big physicality, or link play to compensate.

On the other hand Plumtree looks fantastic. Only current Scarlets player playing with any grit and urgency, and basically won us the game v Japan in the summer. He still needs to work on error count/discipline, but he's shaping up to be a great option at 6/8 imo.

I still think Mann needs to put on a stone to be truly effective at the ****ly ******* role he plays, but he's started the season well for Cardiff so deserves his place. He's probably more of a 6, which mabe suggests Morse is there as an openside and it's him who's taken Reffell's position? We also have Faletau and Wainwright as 8's.

Fair. I’m not writing Plumtree off or anything and I do think he has high potential but it’s just more a feeling about him than anything else. I’m happy enough he’s in the squad.

I do disagree about Reffell not being international class, though, albeit I find myself agreeing with a lot about what you say about him. I guess I just think he’s put in some great performances for us and he’s very consistent. As I say, though, I think your assessment of him was fair.

I hate the “put on a stone” thing but I think Mann needs to do that to be fair. lol.

I wouldn't be far off this. I'd probably stick with Edwards as starting 10, but could see it being Sheedy as long as someone else is there to placekick (Hawkins or Ben Thomas). I agree with the back 3, but still think the order needs tweak with Murray on the wing and either Rogers or LRZ at 15.

On the bench I don't rate Coleman, Assiratti for me even if he's also a bit meh. I can't decide on Freddie Thomas, perhaps Fender would offer a little more, or dare I say Beard who seems to be playing well in France. 22 shirt would be a toss up between the 2 10's not starting. Then I'd probably have Beetham in the 23 shirt, could prove to be a great utility option covering the entire backline outside of 9.

Beetham needs to work on his handling, he spilled a few balls tonight. But he's got tons of potential, big, physical, good all around skillet. And he grew into the game tonight, took a great high ball towards the end when Glasgow were threatening.

I really like Bowen too, but tonight wasn't a great example as he really struggled under the high ball (along with the rest of the Cardiff players to be fair). His time will come.

Bit unfair on Beetham given his injury issues over the last few years. This is his first run of games since picking up his Wales cap.

Agree on Ben Thomas, he was excellent last night, especially given that Ioan Lloyd was a headless chicken for most of the game, he really stepped in to give the side direction. He looks more physical this season.
