McKensie favours Simmons as one of his locks, so it's a choice between Horwill, Carter and Skelton. Looks like Carter could be the favourite to start with Simmons v the ABs with Horwill on the bench. Skelton could be eased into the RC v Argentina.

Palu is ahead of McCalman and will start at 8. Henry Speight won't be eligible until September, so I think Joe Tomane on the left wing will start in the first game of the RC. Otherwise the rest I agree, although the no. 16 shirt is worn by the replacement hooker (but that really is not-picking).

Tevita Kridrani? Just think, that could be Matt Giteau. That would be an awesome upgrade.

Isn't Palu getting long in the tooth? He seems to have been around forever.

Based on the three match series v France. Horwill was on the bench for the 1st and 3rd tests; he only started the 2nd test because Carter got injured; Simmon started all 3. Link removing the captaincy from Horwill since before the November internationals also indicates that he is no longer guaranteed his place in the 1st 15.

Pocock injured the same cruciate ligament knee back in March and had to have another operation on it, so will be out for the rest of the year again. I'm not sure he will come back the same player, but hope he does, as he is a fantastic no.7 when fully fit, but now Hooper has come to the fore and is at his peak.
