London Wasps have moved to strengthen their front-row for next season with the signing of versatile prop Jeremy Castex from Narbonne.

The French prop, who can play on either side of the scrum, has agreed a two-year deal to make the switch in the off-season.

Castex has previously played for Bourgoin, Castres and Dax and gained a reputation as a fearsome scrummager.

And the 29-year-old is relishing the chance to test his skills out in the Premiership.

"I am really excited to be joining such a fantastic club," he said.

"It will be a great challenge and I am looking forward to working with some great forwards like Simon Shaw, Joe Worsley and others and being coached by a World Cup-winning prop in Trevor Woodman."

Wasps chief executive Chris Thomas believes Castex can become a key figure at the club.

"We are making no secret of the fact that we want to strengthen our pack in time for next season and this is the first of a number of signings we hope to make in this area," he said.

"Jeremy's versatility in the front row will be a real asset to the squad."
