As a curiousity, there are nineteen 'starred' players in the game (marked ^ above). Three (Habana, Williams and Robinson) have only the 'scoring' speciality. Two (Smith and Burger) are ballwinning, tackling tackle-breakers. The remaining fourteen also have three specialities each, but no two have the same trio (Lewsey, Dallaglio, Henson, Umaga, Montgomery, Spencer, Carter, Wilkinson, O'Driscoll, Nyanga, Larkham, Pichot, Gregan, McCaw).

Oh puhlease.

Three of my players can continuously punt the ball 3000+ metres.

My wingers can run 100 metres in 7 seconds flat.

My entire back row can pick up the ball with just their index finger alone from the bottom of a ruck.

My 9 foot locks can jump 12 metres high.

And my front row can push 12 elephants with their heads.

Please don't give me that **** chiro.

Is it not boring having all the best players, as this makes your team better and your opponent worse (without their stars) no wonder you lot conplain about it being too easy.

BM

To be honest, I haven't been playing World League at all. I initially decided to build up a team of all Stars, and then accept a job offer from a rival club, and take them to the top. Beating my former team in the Knockout Cup final... But I haven't recieved any job offers at all in the Elite League...

Just been playing European Trophy with 8 teams.

bwhahahah...u cannot challenge my skill at rugby video gaming..that is why i wish this had online feature..so i cud destroy everyone in the planet and then threaten scientist to make an exact clone of me..so i can challenge my greatness and defeat him

i am no contender!...i am the champion!!!

Well I get bored when my team gets too good. I also like to play whee you have to keep 3 of the originals in your first 15. Always nice to have Heffler or Donnison or Nawali score a try in elite.

donnison and zwicker wud be the only players ive kept but they on the reserved list

Chiro,

It wasn't really too much trouble. I have pulled the player data from the data.gob file and loaded it into a spreadsheet. I am gradually working away at how the data is stored, in the same way as darfh has done with his Player Editor. Extracting the top ten is easy using the spreadsheet's filters and database functions.

There are 1751 player records although a number are duplicated because there are separate records for many of the French club players. You may have noticed how Rougerie appears as Rossary and Michalak as Mallack in their club rosters. These are separate entries although the values are the same.

What follows sets out the Offset from the start of the record, Structure, Data and my comments. (Its more readable in a table but I can't post it that way.)

Note that when I suggest bytes are unused, that refers only to the player database. They may be used for player data (such as form and morale) in saved tournament files or for created players in rosters (especially their appearance). I have yet to investigate that far.

Some of what I label 'not used' bytes are likely to result from the use of multi-byte integer types in the original programme coding (ie using a long integer type for a value when a shortint would have been sufficient).

Seems like you have gone a long way to crack some of the database, my knowledge doesn't merit this, I don't really understand but it looks like we have alot to do!

BM

k i am a bit confused, are the bytes in hex? and things like nationality and such are in binary? if so thats a weird way to go, but not to hard to program, maybe darf can help you with some of the other things.

i was going ot make a program for this but i was WAY 2 lazy :)
