What should a winger's position be defensively when a line-out,scrum,ruck is on?

How does the winger defend overall?Where should he be and when?

It varies from team to team and that's my expert opinion as a prop.

i play wing at a medium/high level in auckland, usually you want to have enough time to cover your ass if they kick it over you so a bit of depth is needed (more then the other backs)
