I think they paid an early release fee as well as compensation for next season's contract from what I saw

Rumours have been floating around for a while, so there may be fire with the smoke, but so much of the rest of Fissler's piece is completely wrong that I find it hard to put much credence in his words (like saying Quirke has dropped down behind even Nye Thomas in the pecking order despite actually being first choice when fit)
Wouldn't be surprised if it was agent talk to get his renewal up after injuries have knocked some of his market rate off - he was as good as signed for Quins a couple of months ago....before they re-signed Porter and Care and the rumour mill moved on
