Ok, I'd agree with that, he was a Dem, independent and when he saw the writing on the wall he jumped on the Trump train...

But my point is, he is important, he holds power, and he is making inroads within problematic areas of US society, namely health and nutrition. To dismissively label him, and discredit him, and censored international media on reporting in what he's doing is stupid!

The article was a good read, well researched and the journalist left personal opinion and bias out of it wherever he could, it criticised RFK while acknowledging his role to date.

RFK was bought - simple as. A classic politician with so few principles that he was happy to switch sides for power and money. Trump offered him a job in exchange for a block of anti vax votes. It was very much transactional.

Same with Vance who is on record criticising TACO but then changed his tune when he got wind that he was a contender to be on his ticket. TACO only chose him because he was in a crucial swing state - again, transactional. Its almost as laughable as TACO and Vance both coincidentally converting to Catholicism in 2019.

RFK is lucky that Linda McMahon takes a fair bit of heat off him on the incompetence front.

Reduce red tape to save on R&D costs == More Profits
Reduce liability == More profits
IP Rights on Breakthrough Drugs == Able to charge more == More Profits

It has huge detrimental effects on US society, and I can't say I'm anti lobbying in the US because I don't have the hubris to claim i know best for 300 million people thousands of miles away, but at very least massive restructure on the lobbying system would be preferable.

If America wants to fall out with it's pharmaceutical industry then let it. I pay a tenner for my prescriptions and my parents pay **** all for theirs so I couldn't give a toss what wetherspoons conversations idiots have on podcasts about vaccines etc. I am worried about America cutting Foreign aid that vaccinated lots of the 3rd world and kept infectious diseases mostly under control in my lifetime apart from from COVID. Now that's up to America although it will bite them on the arse at some point and that loss of soft power will only let the Chinese continue to rise but I would have liked to have seen the UK/EU/perhaps even Australia step in and fill the void. Thinks it's an opportunity missed.
