First half didn't surprise me at all, but didn't think there'd be such an improvement in the second

Ford showed his class, backrow was really good and Pepper was quality from the bench too

Baxter put it in his best performance in a while,

Atkinson pretty good on day-boo, maybe a few silly errors at times but it was through being over exuberant rather than idiocy - lots of energy, lots to like

Willis very good, but leave him for a bit longer please

I thought Atkinson was good. Can’t blame him for a team yellow (that was exceptionally harsh anyway) and brought his Gloucester game. He was very good at keeping the ball alive under huge pressure on the gainline.

Agree on the whole but harsh on Steward. He did very well for Roebuck’s second try in particular and took some difficult kicks,

The team is evolving, and i dont think Stewards carrying was as good in heavy contact as it is now.

Im not a fan of the set up really HOWEVER its a set up that actually could allow both high ball tactics AND also working on a FB crashing the midfield, quick recovery and using Ford, Atkinson to distribute from there.

IF they get it right...and Blackett could be a key player here....then it could work very well.

And Ewels didn't get a red card....cant forget that.

But honestly I'd add that JVP and Murley deserve a start next week.(not for Roebuck he was class!

Yeah Atkinson was really good I thought. Just his decision making to pass, kick or smash into contact - how long have we been missing that now. Dingwall has a bit of that too, nothing super eye catching but doing the right thing at the right time instead of attempting to burst through three tackles and chuck a miracle offload to a player that isn't there

He was good. Played like he does for Gloucester and didn’t look out of place at all. Got a yellow for a fictitious offside while we were on a team warning but not his fault at all.

Exactly his. Doesn’t look great on a spreadsheet but is crucial.

I think everyone stood up well in defence, and only really Spencer and Slade being anonymous in attack. Everyone else did "quite well" at worst, with a few (Roebuck, Pepper, George, Willis, Ford) being properly good.

I'd be happy to see that as Spencer & Slade's last game in an England shirt. But then, I'd have happily said that a full year ago as well.

Atkinson, Muir and Murley looked at home at this level
