England 2025/26

Birmingham City football club is planning a new 62 thousand seater stadium and wants to host Rugby Union as part of it. Could be a partial solution if the RFU do sell Twickenham as they threatening to and play some matches there, some at Wembley and some in Manchester.

September they came out and said they are revamping Twickenham. Have they threatened to leave again?

That’s nonsense and the opposite of what the RFU annouced.

But you seem to care very little for the truth.

He's still hot and cold for me. He can control games well, but also suck the energy out when you need tempo. I do feel he gives the backs some negative mentality by not trusting them enough.

Paired with Spencer, it was always going to be a low tempo, territorial game from England

Who who comes out with the more credit and who comes out with less? Been a very positive AI series for us.

The thing I'm happiest about is when we had that 18 game winning streak it was great but felt constantly like we were papering over the cracks but now it feels like we are really building to something. At full strength I dont think there is a team(including SA) that we won't be competitive against.

Our depth is building nicely, some areas of worry but I mean who has the depth we do? Maybe France and SA? They must have weak areas too.

Ford is number 1 and rightly so, Fin is rightly number 2 but Smith is number 3 but utility which means he makes the bench more than Fin.

Prop Genge Baxter
Stuart Hayes AoF(plays both sides)

Hooker? LCD number 1, we need to pick and stick with a number 3 which will be Dan.

Lock itoje Chessum Coles Martin (CCS cover)

Back row is strong.

SH Mitchell Spencer then JVP Randall Quirke, who is going to step up, all very different but I dont think SB is fully in on Soencer either.

FH...yes

Centre IC Ojomoh Dingwall Atkinson. Handful of caps between them but who wins
OC Lawrence Slade (Freeman?)

Wing IFW Freeman Roebuck Arundell

FB Steward (Smith)

Who have I missed? Who will step up?

Oghre/Langdon should be above Dan and play a role in the squad come WC time.

There's some back 3 players in the PREM who could be involved as well, depending on the performances over the next year and injuries.

I know that some think he's past it, but I think Daly still has an important role to play within this squad. Someone with his level of experience and versatility is important to have within the team. He didn't exactly cover himself in glory today but had some impressive moments (made a very good chase and tackle on Mallia) and it was his first game back in months. Pre-injury he did exactly the job needed of him for both England and the Lions this year.

He wouldn't make my first choice 23 or anything but he has a lot to offer as a reliable option in multiple positions to call upon when injuries inevitably happen.

Be interesting to see the back 3 makeup when everyone is fit - gotta imagine Arundell is in a precarious position once Furbank (or maybe even Sleightholme?) is back as he's the only one who didn't get a start even with multiple injuries

Murley's been in the squad for the whole series and got 0 minutes.

Think if everyone was available then Borthwick would see back three depth as:
WG: Freeman (but also 2nd choice 13), Feyi-Waboso, Roebuck, Daly (potentially 3rd choice 13?), Arundell, Murley
FB: Furbank, Daly, Steward, M. Smith

Think Arundell is probably in a pretty safe position within the squad on account of the fact that 2 of the wingers ahead of him would also be 2nd or 3rd choice in other positions, so wing cover is needed within the squad for when those guys are training/playing elsewhere.

D'oh, forgot he was there tbh

Furbank in for Murley and Arundell stays to keep learning, maybe?
Yeah good shout. Will be interesting to see who Atkinson comes in for when he’s back fit (or if he does make it straight back in). Before today I’d have said he’d swap straight in for Ojomoh but surely not after today.

Slade would be the next obvious candidate to drop out but then you’ve got 3 specialist 12s and only 1 specialist 13, plus Dingwall, Ojomoh, Atkinson and Lawrence would be a very green selection of centres.

Will be interesting.
