So it turns out Sky News did approach Farages daughter. Im reading that a times editor published a picture of her address, Dky news confirmed they were part of a pool of journalists at the address.

So once again, instead of Farage having to justify his scumbaggery, the news is full of Farage being a drfencive protective father against a media hit campaign.

It just plays into his hands over and over, now there are people arguing about the legitimacy of doorstepping on Sky News, CCTV footage of a supposed sky new reporter lurking around the house etc...

My understanding is that it wasn't about his daughter, the news story was about his property portfolio and once again he has managed to divert the story

I dont think it matters what the stpry is, Farage daughters address was essentially publishes online, pictures of the house, then numerous reporters including sky news have attended thoughout the day.

Sky news said they had not contacted anyone from his family, and are now claiming to have contacted an adult female, living at the home of his daughter lol.

My point is not to defend Farage, the point is they have once again given him the ammo to deflect this into harrassment of his daughter, not only by publishing pictures of her house, but attending the house and claiming they never, when there is clear evidence they did, and when that evidence is released, they acknowledge they did.

Now we can get into the validoty of the CCTV etc... but its already too late, using an angry Farage video in the airport for views, and claiming hes wrong, then he isnproven right absolutely drvalues the medias integrity firther, and helps his fan base dismiss the orogonal story further. This is what im banging on about with both Farage and Trump, if those who want them gone stop putting themselves in positions to be humiliated, they might be gone by now

Need to tread carefully here so as not to hit the wrong tune.

Is this act totally deplorable and was the intent of the PSNI to not allow it correct? Yes.

Does the PSNIs inability to stop it coupled with the fact that they allow countless bonfires that burn Irish flags, images of Irish people, the pope, the virgin Mary etc... every year show them up as an incompetent, corrupt organisation not fit for keeping the peace at a supermarket? Also yes.

The orange order and those that hang off their coattails around the 12th are a scourge on society. The veil has dropped here, don't let them continue with their countless other illegal bonfires in the name of tradition.

As to burning a model of a mosque, I would rather they did that than attempt to burn real ones full of people as has happened on the mainland before. So long as it is clear it is an effigy and that you're not trying to persuade people to go further, it's free speech

They probably do. The PSNI has worked hard to distance itself from its past but it us very much a work in progress, like much of NI the next generation will progress if given the space to do so.

I don't really think resources is the question here, it's their interpretation of the rule the law.

Last year in the same place they burned an effigy of migrants on a boat - Allowed, not considered a public order offence or hate crime.

All of this follows a government backed report linking bonfires to paramilitaries.

Happy to leave it here because you don't have to convince me that public services in the North are underfunded and underresourced. However the PSNI's handling of this "celebration" has always been pathetic and has only emboldened sections of the loyalist community to the point that they are now openly committing hate crimes on any demographic that they wish and also actively disobeying the law - I think it's wishful thinking to believe this stops at bonfires one weekend a year and doesn't have wider negative impacts on the community.
