All honesty there's not many players in the England squad who've won there home league, won a Lions series, won the European Cup. Maybe a few of the Saracens or Exeter players.

Probably the three big things as a domestic player. Stick in a RWC win for the big four comps. There's very few who'd have all four from 2003 that I could think of, if any.

Mad there's only a self group of people in the northern hemisphere that can act Billy Big ********. Everyone else not so much.

Not sure the England team or its players are overhyped at all. It’s the opposite, low expectations due to the poor performances.

Even after those 12 wins there were still people thinking the wheels will fall off due to the gameplan and performances.

Hearn is doing what he does best, and tbh he is right. Rugby needs higher paid players to bring in a new crowd. But Franklins Gardens has a capacity of 15k which sells out regularly, and Northampton isn’t a big city so really how exactly would they benefit from such a big ass pay increase.

How many clubs turn a profit? Globally?

Japan (clubs bankrolled by billion dollar companies) and France (how many turn a profit? 3?) have inflated salaries a ton and everyone's trying to play catchup way beyond their means

I kinda think rugby needs to accept its place in the sporting world now. We are not financially in the top bracket.

If you are a player you kinda need to accept it when you get into the sport.

But from Hearns pov he is right about the sport imo for a new crowd you need the glitz and glamour aspect. Just rugby missed that boat a long time ago

Honestly, I doubt anyone in rugby is worth much more than £100k; the current salaries are propped up by just enough rich people and outside organisations wanting to 'invest' [cough] in the sport.

That's a pretty fragile pipeline. At the moment, more are coming in, but how much of that is a genuine love of the sport and how much an opportunity to get in on a pump and dump prior to selling on to the next sucker?

(I love rugby and am pleased that the players are well-compensated, but, as we saw with Irish, Wasps and Warriors, the game is permanently teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.)

Guy's looking at darts, boxing and football and thinking there's money to be had. What is a players commercial worth. I agree he bringa alot of attention and interest and I agree that should come into it....but he isnt the start playing in England winning the 6N(lol) or even the only key player in saints wins.

Given his England and Saints performances he should be on more than most players his age if not all but not world class wages. I really rate him and I think this is a rediculous suggestion for £1m...

Yeah, I thought the best players in sny sport earn more from advertising, sponsorships and endorsements.

I feel like even there Rugby is at the lower end. Major companies don't use rugby players really.

Not sure how I feel about that - guess it depends how well Stuart comes back after such a long lay off. I've seen nothing from Sinckler at Toulon to show he'd be in our first choice 23
I suppose experience at third choice is nice to have but if you break it down to skill vs skill, is he a better scrummager than Kloska or AOF?
Gonna have to keep a closer eye on the European games this season, but from what I saw last...I'm not so sure

I felt Sinckler was on the decline before he left. Reminded me of Mako. Was usually the weak point in the scrum and only real selling point was in the loose which had dropped off. Unless he's had a huge uptick in form I can't see him being an improvement on what we have already.

However, I can see Steve, throw **** at the wall, Borthwick picking him to hopefully solve something going wrong. He has no idea what as that would involve having accurate tactical knowledge, but he's hoping Sincklet solves something.
