2025 World Rugby U20 Championship

Argentina squeaked the win v Wales. Arg were too powerful up front really, squeezed the game up front and Wales were hanging on really. Almost won it with a few mins to go, but wasn't to be with the try being chalked off.

Last few mins of the first half really killed it for Wales. 24-7 up and just handed 2 tries on a plate to Arg to bring them back into it.

About the same time as Putin and Netanyahu.

Timmins gets top end ban (10 weeks) with the full mitigation down to 5 weeks - which seems fair.

Of "fair", rather; I'm not a fan of 50% reductions as a matter of course

Baby Boks vs England
IMG_5324.png

Players to be watching out for - Hlekani (pictured), Pead, Ndlozi and Mentoe. They stood out in the last game, but I doubt they'll get as much space as Australia gave them.

Team play feels very Stormers than traditional Springboks, very fast and elusive backline that is also benefitting from a very strong forward pack (and scrum).

Just turned it on to see England see the jammiest of tries
And then a well created one for SA.
Not sure it quite makes amends for Jacob Williams' cock-up though, even if it is 7 points each way

Definitely head contact.
Definitely could and should have got lower.
Definitely low level of force.

I'd say yellow only, but we've also seen them given as red (often to Charlie Ewels)

The highly vaulted England pick getting a humbling today

Feel the 6N's made us look a lot better than we are, Backs looking good though espcially Bracken
Subs didn't bring the impact up front

We gave our opponents a 35 min advantage. Got away with murder, again. Everyone loves a comeback story and we are all happy right now, but the insight here is we haven't learned a thing from our colossal mistake.
If you are banking on your subs wrecking havoc in the last 30-40 mins you have to minimize the damage received before that.

French scrum half is comfortably the best player on the pitch.

This isn't the first time I've typed that sentence in the last 4-5 years.
Either gender, junior or senior.
