Unless they get some oustanding signings in these supposed announcements on tuesday I'm inclined to agree. Worcester should be strong next year (baring any slip ups in the playoffs), so they (as in Sale) will be likely candidates for the basement.

My money will still be on Newcastle though. Had Leeds bothered to turn up last week, Newcastle would be going down this season. As it is they seem to have just about done enough now to survive I think the script is pretty much written for next year already.

Just wondering wer Alix Popham, CA Brive's ex-Scarlets,Dragons and Leeds back row.
He's apparently levin CA Brive after his contract runs out in the summer
Will he cum bac 2 wales or go to a Pro D2 (french 2 division), or at a long shot even england

mike mc comish from connacht to ulster and tommy seymour from ulster to glasgow
possibly seymour leaving to free up a wing space for carr?

Even so, bad news. I remember Northampton signing a Samoan centre, is he Downey's replacement or Ansbro?

Munster seems the most likely destination if he's moving back to Ireland.

Losing Downey could be a blessing in disguise for Northampton. He's very effective in a limited role- bashing it up. He's not great as swinging it wide or making scything breaks. Also at 30, he's going to get a big contract but see his talent levels drop off from this point on. In 3 years will he be worth a fat salary?

Lads I said this few weeks ago that Munster have contacted Downey and well it likely Tuitupou will be released and Sowney could do a job at 12 for us. I'd expect he'll get a 2 year offer at max
