Ok, Wales against the Aussies!
I think it's only fair that history totally repeats itself. New Zealand will comfortably win the world cup next week and Wales will take the game against the Aussies.
I'll settle for 3rd place in the world cup, especially after coming 4th in the 6nations and not even leaving the pool stages in the last world cup.

Can anyone explain why the match is on Friday???

All the big matches will be on Saturday, they want to conclude the world cup with the final not the 3rd/4th play-off, they wouldn't play the final on a Sunday so they play this on Friday.

Australia to run riot, 20+ win.

I cant help but think South Africa should be playing in this game. IMO they are NOT 5th in the world, maybe this tournament should be just about the final and no 3rd or 4th.

The last time this match had any value was in 1995, when the winner was granted automatic qualification for the next RWC... Now it's just a useless match, since the other teams are already back home. The whole plate/bowl/shield concept would suit this match much better

I blame England.

They ruined the tournament because both Argentina and Scotland would have beaten France in the quarters, and lost to Wales in the semi.

My tuppence worth :p

This is gonna be a tough match for the players to get up for. No Warburton may be the difference here, because Pocock could run riot at the breakdown. Hopefully a combination of Faletau, Lydiate and Ryan Jones can keep him quiet, but it'll be a tough ask. Hopefully Adam Jones will be fit, then we can muller their scrum and probably get a few easy points. If we can keep Pocock's influence to a mninimum, then I think this Welsh side may be too physical for the Aussies, in the same way Ireland and NZ were.
