We've hit absolute rock bottom. Our fans aren't happy, we blaming this and that and were even getting racist remarks. Racist remarks??...yes racist remarks have been sent to Pat Lam. Totally pathetic. Pat Lam has not impressed me, when someone doesnt impress me I dont make racist comments about them. It shows these racist people have no idea about rugby. You dont judge a persons ability to coach, play by the colour of their skin.

Anyway the Blues are at the bottom, the only way for us now is up, so Im saying we beat the Sharks.

Race has nothing to do with anything. It's seriously ridiculous what some people are saying.

Anyway, the Sharks got smashed by the Canes last week so this one is even harder to pick. The Sharks showed promise with ball in hand, so as long as they defend I think they can pull the win off. The Blues are in a bit of a hole at the moment and can't seem to get out of it. Players are no where near their potential. Who knows though, they may surprise us.

Anything can happen. Both quality sides under performing, the Sharks slightly less so, but I approve of the Blues line-up for once and they are playing at home.

Really all depends on which team comes to play. I actually have a feeling the Blues might take this though, could be the start of some sort of come back (not that they can realistically make a play-off spot at this stage).

The Blues will either rally from adversity, and produce some sort of dramatic win that sets the tone for the season. Or they get smashed and be lucky to win another game this season.

I'm not saying it didn't happen and i'm CERTAINLY not condoning the racist remarks, but I am on that Blues website 4-5 times a week, and aside from one or two posters claiming that Lam favours Samoans over Tongans (or any other race), that is the closest I have seen to racist remarks on the site.
I know for a fact that TheBlues.co.nz site does not screen the messages before they are posted either (I know because the ones I post are up on the site immediately).
I guess what I am saying is; I am curious as to where these emails were, how many of them there were, and by how many posters?
Again, I'm not disputing that there probably were some remarks made, but I feel its unfair to tarnish Blues fans, and indeed all New Zealanders by not giving us the actual number of individual remarks, and exact number of individual posters who wrote them.
This smacks of a bit of a media beat-up to me. But then again, I am suspicious of the media in this country. Its has turned into tabloid journalism because there is very little to write about it in NZ it seems, and controversy sells.

I get Friday off, and now I have to get up at 9. To watch this game or to sleep late...

If the Sharks lose and made me get up early for nothing, I'm going to send Plumtree a bag of burning poop.

The Warriors also receiving some racist messages. Im very sure its happening and it needs to be stopped not watered down.

Its fair that you have your scepticism about these racist messages Flukey considering you dont like Pat Lam, but you got to look past Pam Lam. If it was Graham Henry getting these coward messages I'd be equally disgusted. It doesnt matter who it is, you dont kick a man whiles hes down with cowardly keyboard typing racisim. I believe Pat has received these messages because NZ looks all good in the hood but its quietly racist. Not as bad as some other places but every now and then it rears its ugly head.

Sadly, because of the internet, people are able to be ugglier to others than ever. It is pathetic, but I doubt it can or will be stopped. You only have to look up ANY video on Youtube and see the comments, and you'll realize just how nasty some people are with anonymity. Don't know if I'd go as far as to say New Zealand is racist. There is only a very small percentage of the population that I would think it fair to throw them in that category. Obviously racism exists everywhere in the world.

Totally agree Nick.

Thats why I say its not fair to just throw these allegations out into the media and public arena and not provide context.

If it is only a very small minority of people posting these messages - and whilst it goes without saying that 1 message of that nature is too many - then it should be reported accurately.

Unfortunately Sam Owen (and as Nick has pointed out) you are never going to be able to stop those anonymous idiots that hide behind their keyboards.
The fact that I don't like Pat Lam as a coach has nothing to do with it.
I would just like some context and basis given by the media and The Blues when they are reporting this story, rather than tarring all of Blues fans, or all of NZ with the same brush.

It just snowballs and makes things worse. I mean look at the idiotic comments that that Samoan player Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu has since come out with! it just fuels the fires of bitterness.

What he said is pretty damn offensive to me as a NZer, and as a rugby player from NZ.

As I say - the media should be held reponsible to provide evidence to these claims, rather then just writing sensational stories that accentuate a point out of context (as with the Mealamu-Weepu story) or focus on the inane, idiotic, bigiotted comments of an anonymous minority (as in this case)

Sad but true. The internet allows many things, including racist comments. Dissapointing as it is.

True that. I just wanted to say that its stupid this carry on. I dont even want to talk about Sapolu, done enough of that on here. If those racist people are frusterated at our losing streak, they should offer some views of support, ideas, something that'll help. I think thats what we need right now not crazy comments.

I was going to join the Blues website forum now that I know Pat reads from there but one forum for Rugby is enough.
