If you are a fan of rugby you really should buy this game and join in the conversation. It is really a great game.

Some of these have been mentioned by others already but I would love to see the following in updates or future releases of the game!!!

1) Second tier leagues from AUS, NZ & SA and integration of the Super Rugby teams with the associated unions would be wicked.

2) Option of reduced effectiveness of the Centre of Excellence as mentioned somewhere else. I don't think good facilities etc should GUARANTEE great players being produced, merely marginally increase the chance. Maybe upgrades could be less effective when playing a career on difficult?

3) Ability to edit more things like clubs, facilities, staff, leagues, ability to swap players as mentioned by a few people.

4) More tactical options like level of risk to take trying to turnover, driving mauls following line outs, kicking frequency in open play, more penalties, playing for the penalty, scrumming tactics depending on area of the pitch, level of risk to take in the offload (risk of losing possession, but possibility of keeping promising plays going).

5) Ability to loan promising players to a feeder club in a lower league.

6) A world league option!!!

7) A challenge option eg rescue club x who have no money and are unlikely to stay up this year

Any more ideas anyone?!!

Have a nice weekend everyone.

On the way home from the bar last night I thought that it might be nice for a player's calibre to sometimes randomly change up or down - perhaps around their late 20s? It is infuriating but often a great player can seemingly for no reason become ordinary e.g. Morne Steyn or Pierre Spies. No amount of training etc can prevent this and it is the sort of frustration management have to deal with. Sometimes an injury is the catalyst, sometimes it is inexplicable. Likewise, sometimes a player develops an extra boost of ability in the middle or even late on in their career - again often inexplicably.

It might be my experience playing Football Manager but I do like it that excellent players sometimes don't fulfil their potential fully in FM, whilst ok / quite good players surprise one with dramatic improvements etc.

I know it is a bit of a strange one for a wish list.

Well, I'll go for 4 things to be added to increase the games playability:

- Super XV Licenses - Must really. I think just by adding this you'll get a large contingent of fans on board. I know the editor is there, but it would still be nice for it to be sponsored. Also be more accurate with regards to how players are selected and the leagues work down under. Which brings me to my next point.

- Addition of NRC, Georgian, Romanian, Argentina, Japanese and Canadian Leagues. Think NRC is in the game in some form now but the sponsoring of that would be really good. Also please be aware of competition technicalities for all comps. With these though, the Georgian, Romanian, Argentinian, Japanese and Canadian Leagues don't need to be official, just having a presence in the game and the ability to manipulate this with an editor would suffice.

- Unlimited Seasons. - If this can't be added to this addition as an update, please add it to this one.

- The other big area to revamp is the international scene. Mirror it exactly to real life, perhaps live updates on scores would be nice if they are happening the same time as we're playing an ingame match.

- All international divisions around the world. Euro Divisions, Asian, African, American.
- All U18 and U20 Tournaments, including the Euro U18 Championship and JWC for U20s. Caps recorded for Juniors and often because some are in academies for U18s, let the experience add to his experience bar and also aid partially his development into the academy/first team.

I think just adding more leagues and functionality for now would be a nice boost to the game as well as making unlimited seasons. Give the game more depth and more leagues to play in and it makes it far more interesting to play with whilst adding more fans to the game.

Changes to the financial system, transfer negotiations and moods of a player can come more in depth later, adding more leagues, lots of youth development as well I think would be far more catching for the average rugby/management style gamer at this stage.

If you want help on research into U18/U20 leagues and/or researching the alternate leagues I've offered, please let me know and I will gladly help out :).

So in summary:

- Unlimited Seasons

- Super 18 Licensing (w/new Saffa side, Argentinian and Japanese side added)

- Leagues for:
- Georgia
- Romania (w/Moldovan side added)
- NPC/Currie Cup Licensing
- Japan
- Canada
- Argentina

-International Sides revamp
- All Euro Leagues from 6Ns down to Euro Division 3D/4A
- African Divisions
- Asian Divisions
- Pacific Cup
- American Championships
- South American Championships
- World Cup Qualifying made true to Real Life. ie. First 12 teams qualify, a world cup draw and then the correct methods for qualifying for the world cup applied.

- Junior Rugby World Championship every year at different locations.
- Junior Rugby World Trophy (second tier JWC with Promotion/Relegation to top Division)
- European U18 Championships
- South African U18 Championship (France, Wales, South Africa and England Participate)

Regards,

Mark

Its a fantastic game but i think it should be realistic with relegation's from leagues that don't have relegation in them. That should be an option in the editor if you want relegation or not.

I definitely agree with the unlimited seasons and more leagues.

For me as a fan of the actual rugby match side of things more tactical things to control would be great so that you really have to think about your team's strengths and weaknesses and how to negate the opposition's strengths. Getting the tactical battle right is a vital part of rugby.

Hi! My principal need!
More penalty in the game. Not only High tackle. Offside ( players are always in front of the kicker, that made things easier... My Winger's dream...), hands in the ruck... etc... It would make the match more realistic.
FB not defending in the line from scrum and line out. In case of breaking it's always a (too easy) try.
Games are for me a little short. And there are to many missed tackles.

Hi cbauguste I agree about the lack of penalties. I also think there is way too much free flowing rugby and very little attritional territorial play. I think that the backs are more important in this game than the forwards. I would also like to see this tweaked significantly.

I reckon that the match engine will improve. It wouldn't be perfect from the beginning. I've seen some references to the engine in this regard elsewhere about RUTH.

Only have started playing recently.
Couple of things I've noticed up to now and think could be improved :
- Colts really are expensive, just as costly as senior players of the same calibre, seems odd to me. Also, progress, and not only potential, should be taken into account when determining colts' price.
- Player's attributes shouldn't be fixed as soon as they go from colts to senior. It's very rare IRL that players simply stop developing having turned 18! As in Football manager, physical attributes would stop improving earlier as mental ones would start to rise later on.
- More attribute diversity needed, the rating really seems quite reductive as it is. Also, why separate attributes for forwards and backs? I really don't get it, forwards nowadays run and pass the ball too so I think that, apart from really specific skills (scrummage, lineouts, goalkicking...), all attributes should be shared. That's the case for all other rugby game I've ever played (Rugby 08, Rugby Challenge series) so I don't understand the developper's choice, what it is simple because it was simpler to code or something?

+1 about seniors players attributes.
About colts, It's the same wage for all. With a good scout you can pay a lot less!

The différence between back and forward attributes is here to create coaches spécifications i think. And it's helpfull when you start playing this game. I think It's usefull. But you're right some of foreward are not good enough in back attributes. A prop with 10 in speed ok, a flanker not!

It would be nice if the game allowed for surnames with two words e.g. Le Roux, du Plessis, van Zyl etc. When editing names, one has merge them or use a hyphen e.g. LeRoux, or Le-Roux. There are quite a lot of names where this is the case - especially from South Africa and France.

It might be nice if there was more of a grinding down of the opposition side to matches. Quite a few matches produce extraordinary tries.

I would also like to see the sort of in match simulation that the Football Manager series simulates. There, whole games are simmed, but you can choose the level of depth with regards to highlights.

I also like the way they have done attributes but like others think that forwards should have better back attributes, and to a significantly lesser extent, backs should have better forward attributes.

Whilst I think a lot of the ideas above are good I think perhaps they are a bit premature. My wish would be a big focus on the game engine.

Starting with rucking:

Possession needs to turn over a lot more - the opposition can have possession for a whole 1/2 sometimes. - I also feel cheated when my team knock on as possession is so hard to come by at the moment.

Penalties need to come from the rucks.

Isolated players when tackled need to be turned over or penalty awarded (I would have thought this would be easy to program in using a simple algorithm based on surrounding players??)

The Scrum

Flankers need to break off when defending - at the moment blindside moves are too effective!

Penalties from the scrum.

Kicking

There is no chase/any chase is extremely poor

This makes up and unders pointless/frustrating as you lose possession and then struggle to get it back.

If the opposition 15 runs back with the ball its often extremely effective due to poor chase.

Offside isn't registered on kicking.

When returning a kick my full back will 99% of the time kick the ball straight out from the 22. Even when a run seems on. This is also very frustrating when turnovers seem rarer than a masculine soccer player.

Loose play

The defence can be ridiculous with your players running around attackers etc

Too many missed tackles

Players making a break will often pass to a marked player. OR they will ignore/waste a blatant over lap.

When finishing a try the player will rarely head for the sticks.

At the 40/80 min point the fly half will often bang the ball out of play. Especially annoying when you are in opposition 22 and attacking in either the 1st 1/2 or needing an extra try for the bonus point.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sort out some of these issues with the in game engine before trying to add other features etc. I have nearly put my keyboard through my screen when the above issues have caused me to lose vital games.

I really do love this game but the above issues are starting to spoil it a bit for me.

Thank you for the feedback.

Rucks
Rucks are usually won by the team in possession, and the turnover rate is set to allow teams to build
momentum through the phases. The team with the best forwards will generally have the majority of
possession.

Scrums
There are many options for an offensive scrum, provided there is cohesion in the team. Options range
from moves from the base of the scrum, to sweeping moves out to the wings. The team with the dominant
scrum will not be turned over (accept for when the SP Turnover team call has been made), while the weaker
scrum may be turned over. The same applies to the line-out. The dominant line-out will not be turned over,
while the weaker line-out may be turned over. The balance of the scrum and line-out can be viewed at any time
by pressing and holding the SP button down.

Kicking
The fullback decides whether to kick or run when receiving a punt. It was considered whether to pass this option
to the gamer with a Clearance Kick button, with the fullback running by default. This may be included at a later stage.

Loose Play
As the matches cannot run for a full 80 minutes in real time, the action quota within the match
is increased, to make the match exciting to watch. The attritional aspect of the game is reduced
to allow more free flowing rugby.

I do hope this is helpful.

Kind Regards
Dave

Hi there, first post about RUTM recently bought.

Agree with the above post about the game engine.

I would like to have a shorlist to bookmark players i would like to hire.

I would like to have more links to "administrate" players in the action window on the players page or on each player page, to fire them, change training and others things we can do on players.

Another thing which can be useful is to make easier to compare players of your club. actually it's quite difficult.
Maybe add a filter on the club may be the easier way to do this.

Thanks for this already good game (when PRM is a crappy game), it can be awesome with some tweakings.

Edit : Another thing which has just happened, game crash when computer is inactive and goes to screensaver.
I'm tired so I've don't copied the error message, I'll post it here if it happens again.

PS : Sorry for my poor english.

I've found a bug / something to modify.

When the clock is over 80 minutes and the game will end at the first stop, the opponent does a foul then I'll choose the way to play the penalty.
I've chosen to play it to try to score a try and not to kick to throw-in or to kick for 3 points and the game brutaly ended, my team cannot play the penalty.
I think it's an important thing to fix.
If the clock is over 80 minutes the game will end if you kick to throw or if you kick it for 3 points but the game must continue if you choose a scrum or to play it quickly.

For me as a player of many management games I think the most important thing is match engine, then editability, then balanced player regeneration so that there is a challenging opposition even after 10 seasons, then accurate representation of various leagues and finally behind the scenes club features which I find less interesting than the actual rugby (match engine)

This is a great game for a first in a what will hopefully be a series, wishlist for number 2 or next year:

3D Match engine:

- The camera angle, keep this one, but it's quite hard to watch from, would it be possible to have a side angle and an angle looking up the pitch.
- Obviously improvements to the physics of the game, i.e. the 10/12 switch is too effective.

Tactics:

- Now obviously every team has their own moves, whether it's in the backs or the line-outs, and these are included in the game. Let's add more!

Attrition:

- Remove this, not keen on this feature at all, doesn't add to the game at all.

- Make the game last forever!
- Have the option to choose between CM/feet and KG/stones
