Makes sense, though it makes you wonder why the WRU would release him for it! (Unless he had it written in his contract, but even then...)

Anyway, to talk about the rugby...
Very hard to say right now, everyone's much of a muchness and not in a particularly good way either. I'm tempted to go crazy and say Scotland will win it - on their day, they've got one hell of a pack, they've finally got some backs worth talking about, and they'll be able to surprise a few.
How are the fixtures working out this time round?
Not sure they'd have a choice, even if he didn't have a sabbatical clause. He tells them "Release me or I resign" and what are their options then? It's not like Gatland wouldn't be able to get another job after the Lions, particularly should he win.
Besides, I'd like to believe that somewhere in rugby, there are still some who are happy to suffer slightly for a greater good, and that it doesn't have to be about them the entire time. I might be alone here, but if Lancaster was made Lions coach, I'd be cool with him missing a 6N.
If we manage to win the first five matches, another grand slam would certainly be possible.
