Japan vs. Samoa 30/05/14. 19:00 JST, Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium, Tokyo, Japan.

Referee: John Lacey (Ireland)

Japan and Samoa have organized a one off test for the end of May in order to warm up for their further Mid Year games. For Japan this will be a step up from their Asian Five Nations competition before they travel to North America for the PNC. Samoa will get to throw out some domestic and low level players to test their depth and some combinations but could be missing key players still overseas with clubs. Have to say the Blossoms are the favourite if this rings true, but we'll have to see when the lineups are announced.

Lineups: TBA

man, where teh Japs n 'Moans at, yo !! SHOW YOURSELVES !!! Speak, so we can lean in and read your comments with curiosity. No but srsly, would be nice to have some of em back...

Yeah still a ways to go before this game, and it will be a weaker lineups type game so there may not be a ton of interest in this one. I look forward to seeing how they both do ahead of the PNC though.

Samoa 14-33 Japan

Japan was a much better team than the Hong Kong game, but Samoa was not their 100%, particularly Samoa's FW was weak. In the World Cup, Samoa would be much tougher for Japan.
Japan's Fullbak Gorômaru plays in Japan's Top League, but he can play in more stronger league, like France, England, Pro12, Super Rugby. Any team who wants good Fullback who can be a PK kicker?

yeah Toulon. They only have 2 quality fullbacks next year, they could use the extra hand.

Indeed, it is shocking to see they haven't followed their policy of signing at least ten players for each position. Maybe this will be their achillies heel next year?

10 players for each position?? How many players does Toulon have?

the calculator

 stepping out of character here for a second but, I don't know if this was intentional or not, but it's hilarious !

- What operation did you perform ?
- TEH CALCULATRE !!

Simple! There are fifteen rugbypositions in rugbyteam, and Toulon have 10 rugbyplayer for each rugbyposition. I mathed them together.

what were the line-ups ?

Doesn't this game just show that many people taking the moral highground over the New Zealand vs USA game were wrong? In that game played outside the window, many people were saying that NH teams should release their players. However, the Hurricanes didn't release Leiua or Lam for this game (and nor should we have done). I think this goes to show that no club team or franchise which employs players wants to release them if they don't have to whether they be privately run entities in the NH or NZRU owned in New Zealand.
