I dunno. That’s about an easy run as you’re likely to get. Mexico are ****. Home advantage so potentially dangerous but they’re toilet. The rest aren’t much either.
Yeah but @Welsh Exile, you’ve forgotten one thing. We’re England and we never do things the easy way, and our knockout games in tournaments very rarely go as they ‘should” on paper. You are right though, if we really are contenders to win the thing then those matches really shouldn’t be a major issue.

The lesser teams will be looking at the that Ghana game and will think to themselves we can do that against England.

England are just embarrassingly bad
It's not like they're being told to play like this because Tuchel is losing his rag on the sidelines and Pickford is screaming at the players to go down the pitch before having to just pass to someone on the edge of the box because apparently all England know how to do is pass back into their own half or lazily give away possession in the opposition half

I think the lack of gamebreakers is exposing the passengers in the attack for England (Rashford mostly although Saka has been quite unimpressive this tournament), Portugal are similar from what I've seen, some very good technical players but no outliers to make it work and no international team will be cohesive enough to win through a system.

I think current international football requires athletic / skillful freaks to be successful, France must have a stupidly high percentage of the fastest players in the comp amd they look better than anyone. Spain with Yamal and Argentina with Messi are probably the only other teams with something out of the ordinary in an otherwise strong enough squad.

Don't know what the draw is like but if it's possible I think my SF predictions would be France, Spain, Argentina and Norway purely because of who their best players are.

I love John Strong's passion JP Dellacamera and Ian Darke remind me of my childhood

Thank god for Bellingham. We would be absolutely screwed without that guy. He is literally dragging us through games. We won, and a win is a win, but that was a painful watch for the first 60 minutes. We look scared to commit players forward. Unlike under Southgate, I don’t believe that Tuchel wants us to play cautiously but it seems like the first thought of our midfield players is to pass backwards or sideways.

Pundits seem to think Rashford played well, but apart from one shot I thought he was wasteful and selfish. Dribbled to far and got dispossessed 2 or 3 times and 2 or 3 times needed to cross and didn't wasting an opportunity.

I honestly don’t mean this as a troll, but I think part of Englands problem is just that there’s a lack of passion from the players. I think the club game is so strong that England will always be second fiddle whereas you go to Argentina or anywhere else and playing for your country is the pinnacle. I know a lot England players say England is the most important, and maybe for some it is, but I generally think they’re lying. lol.

I'm probably more into the one that pays 345k per week.

Agreed, but you can’t say that to say an Argentinian. They will ******* pretend be injured so they can play for Argentina, they will completely disrespect clubs paying them huge wages as, to them, country always comes first.

FUXK YEAH. Fkn Germany lost at a penalty shootout.

The Paraguayan goalkeeper should be the man of the match

Have been watching from halftime. Another great game.

This WC has made me glad I hate my job lmao. I've been sitting at work watching most of the games lol.

Fuk me what a save Verbruggen

The Dutch are absolutely my second team, now that New Zealand are out

Yeah. Got home for the second half and it was lots of fun. Thought Paraguay blew it after neur made that save.

Massive fan of Neuer over the years, but feel like this World Cup was one too many for him. Defo looked his age. The problem is, though that Germany doesn't have a good next best, now that Ter Stegen has fallen off a cliff

Watched the second half this morning what a game. Lots of respect for hakimi who in a situation where 99% of players would have complained about a penalty he chose to dap up the defender instead.

I want winner of Netherlands vs Morocco to win the whole thing.
Agree totally, I love Morocco, they’re a brilliant football team who are so easy on the eye to watch. I’d like to see them play France in the QFs, that really would be a spectacle. Can they go all the way?. They’ve got the ability, 100%.

Fux me. Estadio Azteca is pumping. would love to be there, even just to listen
