Phil Bennett RIP, not a Welshman but in this era a true great.
Just as I started watching, and playing.
Wouldn't survive in today's game but a great player.

A true great of Wales golden era. Amazingly only won 29 caps + 8 Lions.

Started the Edwards try and a Lions captain. A true entertainer. RIP.

I know this line is often wheeled out whenever anyone dies really but he really was meant to be a really nice, humble guy. A lot of people from south and west wales of my dads generation will have a story or 2 about him whether it was on the pitch or off it and have not heard anyone say anything other than what a great guy he was. Never met him sadly but certainly someone I revered when I was a kid even though he was well before my time. RIP
