Silver lining: Cameron/Osborne will face the calls to leave. Already Tory MPs are making their lives difficult.
Remembering we have a Conservative government and that's unlikely to change soon try to remember Cameron is probably the best of bad bunch when it come leader candidates.

Even if we vote leave it will take years and the chances are there will be a labour government then. I think we will probably have to vote again if we vote leave like the Irish had too with the Lisbon treaty.

1.There will be another vote if Leave win without any doubt!!

2. EU commission will come up with some small crumbs which Cameron will trumpet as huge "triumph" and there will be another vote due to immense change within EU!

Or

3. MPs will block the bill to leave!

Whilst I believe there will be a second vote to leave I think its more likely to occur after negotiations have been conducted for what it would look like for Britain afterwards. Couple the probably poor negotiations on behalf of the government with the recession that will occur over this period of time the government will feel that the public will sway their way.

At least that's their best route to winning a remain vote I believe.

If we leave and life goes on as normal, I don't see there being another referendum. People won't notice the changes, so it's unlikely people will change their mind on the referendum. If anything, if nothing changes, I think a new referendum would just wield an even stronger leave vote. The hesitant remainers will probably be won over by leave at that point.

But if we leave and even half the damage is caused to the UK as what the remain side are predicting, especially if we go back into recession, then another referendum is vital. It would swing far too many people to the cause of remain for the position of leaving to be tenable.

That's actually a falsehood it's what's said but the last time was about a political union as well. The idea we were just sold on the common market is false memories / lies.

I didn't say it wasn't...I just wish had stayed as it was before the mid nineties

Michael Gove put in a great performance on QT. He was polite, listened to people, interacted with their point, reaffirmed his "take control" message repeatedly, expertly skirted around the uncomfortable questions, and the segment on his father... his vulnerability gave away something pure that I think a lot of people will connect with. His anecdotes were relevant, but the most important part was that he was overtly optimistic, something this whole debate has gravely lacked. And I hate admitting this. Don't agree with the content at all. But expert presentation there.

But I do wish Dimbleby had pushed him more. He's a great chair/moderator, but Paxman's the better choice for this type of event.

The next Conservative leader......

Don't think it would be wise from a Tory POV. He's still toxic to a lot of people because of his time in education. And the Tories need a someone who can unite the party. So I'd rule out Gove, Johnson and Osborne immediately.

Theresa May is the obvious choice. She's officially remain and has softly campaigned to stay in, but she's also been almost suspiciously quiet on it. Her two interventions have been to say that she wants free movement reform if we stay in, and although Britain are better in, we will survive coming out of the EU. Both of these bits come in the last 24 hours, since (reportedly by the Express) she was threatened to be removed from cabinet for being so quiet over the referendum.

How can leavers suggest that their campaign is not racist when you get posters like this?

Here's similar Nazi propaganda:

Here's the white guy in the poster being blocked out by the tag:

It could be considered racist because it is blocking out the most prominent white lad in the group - however I guess you do have to look very hard to even notice it.

Using the suffering of refugees (not migrants) as a way of saying "fear all these brown people coming to our country", and for good measure, disappearing the white guy in the picture?

I'm not being obtuse, the top picture shows a column of refugees presumably marching into Europe and the statement says breaking point. I really really don't see how that is anyway racist. It may be incorrect or it may be reactionary or scare mongering but it's not racist and to to say it's somehow Nazi propaganda is very silly and a big overreaction.

RIP Jo Cox from all accounts it sounds like she was of the real 'good guys' in British politics, coming from a relatively normal background and then dedicating her life towards helping those not as fortunate as herself. Real tragedy.
