In rugby, coaches seem to feel incredibly comfortable about announcing squads days in advance. Doesn't this really help a team's preparations? The players chosen can be a big hint to how a team plays, so why not announce the team on matchday?
I'm not complaining either. I enjoy reading team announcements. It makes rugby feel more open to fans. I just can't work out why coaches give away such vital information, even for the biggest games.
