Just said I'm finally considering leaving. Cheers to everyone for the enjoyable time on here. Just want to say please don't let debates slip. When I first joined it was a great open minded debate. And now unfortunately alot of bias and just people wanting their own thing has crept in. And I'm included in that list. The English posters I have to admit have been brst for no bias and us irish are alot worst here.
But basically when I joined all them years ago here it was because there eas thrash on other forums but here had class. And I plead don't ho down road of that. I may be back 1 day but for now I'm getting off as I'm probably arguing too much and a break would be good. Will still drop in to read at times but best of luck all

Sad to see you go.

In all fairness, i sincerely believe you are overreacting. Why don't you take a week off and see how it goes. No need to take extreme decisions, particularly after a loss.
Cheers

That's a real shame. Can I recommend the "ignore" feature, combined with putting the laptop down and going to do something else sometimes? I understand 100% where you're coming from, there's a lot of pointless bad-tempered rap, but you don't have to read anything. Just walk away from the crap threads

Not saying he doesn't has to go. It if doesn't enjoy it anymore it only makes sense for him to stop visiting TRF.
Just saying those decisions shouldn't be made in the heat of the moment.

I saw this thread after my last post directed at MM in the Scotland v Ireland thread. I can only imagine his reasons for leaving are due to recent arguments with me, probably starting last Autumn if not before. What started with rugby arguments were allowed to get personal more than once and after yesterday it got to the point where we clearly don't have any respect for what the other poster writes.

Anyway, if I am the sole, or even a large part of the reason you're not posting anymore I'd ask you to reconsider and just add me to your ignore list, I added you to mine. If you enjoy posting here outside of interactions with me stay because there won't be anymore engagements and I'm not worth giving up anything you like doing over. Good luck, whatever your choice may be.

it got to the point where we clearly don't have any respect for what the other poster writes.
I suggest both use the ignore function then.

I don't use it a lot but there are a few posters with which i want no interaction whatsoever and i enjoy the forum more since i add them to my ignore list.

I'd also ask you to reconsider muffin. You've been here ever since I joined years ago and always a fountain of wisdom regarding provincial and Irish rugby. If the site loses passionate posters like you it's clearly going in the wrong direction. No need for such a black and white approach, if it's riling you up spend less time on it or as others have said, try using the ignore function. Besides, it's surely better for you as a person to discuss with people who won't necessarily always agree rather than a load of others with all the same opinions.

Does this site offer to construct new identities for those who want a fresh start? You could come back as ConnaughtTart!

Cheers for advice lads. And Alpha I wasn't aiming at you alone. But acted in heat of moment and will just stay posting but alot less and only on subjects I'm fully confident in.

If you ignore people because you disagree with them then you will just put yourself in a social media bubble where your opinions are never challenged. It just becomes a safe space where only nice things happen and everyone you communicate with is in agreement with you and thats not the world we live in.

I disagree with most people on this forum in regarding politics but to just block them and not take part in the debate cuts off a range of opinions I wouldn't normally hear.

We are all big boys and girls. Locking yourself away from all the "bad people" is a bit childish. People are allowed to be different from yourself.

I left this site a few years ago after a quite assertive attack from a staff member on here over the promotion of London Welsh. I wish I hadn't but it seemed the sensible thing to do at the time. Hes not posted on here for a long time and what I predicted would happen to LW at the time has unfortunately come to pass. So dont let someone ruin things for you. Take them on and have the debate. Otherwise you just spend your life walking away when things dont go your way.

@munstermuffin when i first came here to this forum during the six nations time of year, I felt the exact same and i wanted to leave because of the heated of arguments I've been apart of or seen where i may disagree with the point the person is trying to make in they're argument with someone else. And for you to be here alot longer and posted alot more stuff on here then i have i would have thought you would understand by now that this is just the beauty of the forum.

Every point you would make on the forum, every individual reader will have they're opinion on the point you are trying to make and all they're going to do is make they're own points to prove your's wrong and an argument will only be caused depending on how you reply back. Not saying your always in the wrong but if they're trying to start an argument the best thing to do is to reply in a calm manner instead of showing your frustration to the person trying to prove your point wrong. Because at the end of the day like i said every point you make someone will make a judgement of it. But i do agree nothing has to be heated as it has turned out to be and should rather be a discussion which is the purpose of the treads made here.

I can't decide for you what you do, what you find fun. If you want to leave the forum then that is only your choice to make. But i do advise you to reconsider your decision you would be a big loss here.
