SARU has released a statement that both Argentina and Namibia will have teams representing them in 2010 in the Vodacom cup to be played in South Africa. Apparently Argentina will be based in Stellenbosch as an attempt by SARU to get some decent scrummagers into the Western Cape.

The ankle operation on Bakkies Botha has been reported to be a successful one and Bakkies has been released back into the highveldt wilderness for a 3 month period. It is still not confirmed who will pay for the helicopter and tranquilizers when the time comes to bring Bakkies back for Super rugby.

NZRU has confirmed that the ANZcup will remain a 14 team format comp. No such luck with Super rugby.

Despite them being ruled out of the expanded version of the Super series, the Southern Kings rugby franchise based in Port Elizabeth, SA are said to be keen to ply their trade in the Magner's league... well if the player can match the tenacity of management they should be decent competition at least.

and lastly and unbelievably..

An Aussie has said that despite being ranked no1 on the IRB world rankings, that the All Blacks will only be fooling themselves by thinking they are above the Springboks at the moment. Marc Hinton. An Aussie.

Why do Saracens want to leave the Guinness Premiership for the Magners League?

On another note, good on the SARU for including Namibia and Argentina in the Vodacom Cup. South Africa and France are probably the two most forward thinking of the established nations in terms of trying to develop the sport internationally.

Fantastic news about an Argie and Namibian team joining the VC. SARU must be applauded for getting and keeping the ball rolling in that regard.

PS thanks for the update stormer2010

Why is it unbelievable for an Aussy not to support New Zealand? I can think of few time that they have supported New Zealand.

I'd say NZ and Australia are also doing a good job bringing the game 2 Asia. Great to see South Africa including Namibia and Argentina, really good move to develop the game...Now if Only Kenya would improve in the 15 man game.
