Interesting development, but nice to see in terms of getting some players some exposure and development that aren't playing in the actual test matches. I know they were looking to do a couple of South Africa A type matches to test the depth and develop players, so hope there will be a few more of these that come through.

Pat Lam says his Bristol Bears players will 'test themselves' against some of the best players in the world this autumn when the World Champion Springboks come to Ashton Gate.

Today the Premiership club confirmed they will face a South Africa XV on Thursday, November 17th, 2022 as part of their Autumn Nations Series tour of the Northern Hemisphere.

The fixture will come between South Africa facing France and England with Ireland their other opponents this Autumn.

Pretty excited for this one, hopefully Bristol can emulate Leicester Tigers' success from a decade ago and really bring it to the current world cup holders. Ashton Gate will be buzzing.

The Bristol Bears team that finished the prem in 10th are playing the world champions? Could be a tough day at the office if they dont turn things around.

Yup, but Bristol Bears did finish first in the premiership a year ago so there is hope (plus coaching and squad refresh in off season) and should be a fun evening whatever the outcome. Tickets going hella fast, went on sale this morning and sold over 15,000 by late afternoon.
