BT Sport extend Premiership deal

I have read the article three times and see nothing about viewing numbers?

I would be very surprised if that were true as, apart from rugby and football, the monthly fee buys only rubbish and even if you like football, the vast majority is foreign based?

I do not follow football and the monthly fee was not value on top of that payable for the sky platform necessary for many people, like me, to be able to watch this channel.

Edit... Mind you 50% of a very low number maybe not be significant in any case!!

Free to BT Broadband users as well. I wouldn't have BT Sport if i didn't already have BT internet.
Don't know anyone who pays for it, to be honest.

I'm happy with this, though - think their coverage is infinitely better than Sky used to put out.

I do, through Virgin, although initially I got it for ESPN for the US sports then they took on rugby so I was over the moon

I find the coverage much better than Sky's as it seems to cater much more for the fan rather than the converted football viewer.

My Dad pays for it mainly for the Rugby but does use it for Football.

I have BT Broadband for it as it's the most cost effective way of getting it purely for the Rugby. Find it quite funny when Sky send me survey's they can't seam to understand I don't have Sky Sports for Football.

The viewers stat appears to have been removed.

Why?

All I mean by that is we all know the RFU love control of the game, and the money going into the championship I think is aimed at doing that.

Good I like the coverage at it worth the £10 extra I pay a month to have it. Wish they would get rid of Austin Healey and BOD but otherwise Im happy.

Great news for the Premiership to get such a large increase in revenue. It should help their clubs become profitable and less reliant on benefactors.

From a coverage point of view, I think their commentary team is a bit too chummy. I'd rather proper analysis in games to the inane "banter" we get.

80% increase for the whole deal I presume? So as this deal is for a longer period not an 80% increase per year on the last one.

Is this right?

Interesting to note that the "Clare Balding Show" is now going to be shown on the BBC, given that they are showing clips of the BT sport produced show, I'm guessing that it's a co-production.
If it is then I would be interested to see whether BT are at all inclined to offer live games to them too... I know there is a will amongst at least some of the clubs for FTA broadcast of live games.

I know that CH4's NFL coverage is filmed in BT's studio, but it's not actually a program that is broadcast on BT.

[TEXTAREA]McCafferty says the Premiership will be able to compete on a level footing with the French league. "It's great [for] keeping the best talent in England."
He told BBC Radio 5 live that this would "help the national team" and added: "It pretty much closes the gap entirely when you look at the underlying numbers of what the Top 14 clubs get.[/TEXTAREA]

Bwhahahahaha!! That is just priceless!!

Is this "help" anything like the way the LNR "helps" the French national team?

If I was the RFU, that is help I would rather do without.

Whats wrong with the relationship with the RFU and premier league? Is Stuart Lancaster not able to select certain players? Are there masses of overseas players keeping young English players out of the starting sides?

No.

No.

No... but McCafferty has openly stated that he would like the Premiership to be more like the EPL.
